This position is intended to function as an architect and bridge between all education technology at NUNM and institutional/programmatic effectiveness. While the role provides advanced and complex technical administration for all education technology (Canvas, Lecturio, VoiceThread etc.) in conjunction with front line academic, IT and AV support, its purpose extends beyond education technology troubleshooting. The Manager of Educational Assessment and Analytics helps NUNM use its institutional and academic systems intentionally to measure student learning, program outcomes, and overall institutional effectiveness.

This position works closely with Executive leadership, program deans, faculty, academic support staff, IT & AV, and accreditation stakeholders.

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Ability To

• Understand both the technical and academic sides of an LMS environment.
• Build effective working relationships with faculty and provide support in a collaborative, service-oriented manner.
• Organize complex academic processes and establish clear, repeatable workflows.
• Interpret assessment information and communicate findings in an understandable and actionable manner.
• Recognize the relationship between curriculum, learning outcomes, assessment, instructional design, and accreditation.
• Manage detailed records and maintain accurate documentation.
• Work independently while coordinating effectively across multiple academic and administrative departments.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate processes through technology.
• Exercise sound judgment when handling academic records and other sensitive information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Education Technology

• Serve as the advanced expert for all education technology including but not limited to: Canvas, Lecturio, VoiceThread, Proctorio, Kaltura and other related EdTech technologies, supporting ongoing configuration, organization, and improvement of the University’s Ed Tech environment in conjunction with IT.
• Coordinate with IT & AV, Canvas support (AV and Academic Support), and other vendors when escalation is necessary for complex troubleshooting and solutions.
• Develop and maintain procedures, documentation, training materials, and resources for education technology tools.
• Support faculty and canvas support with developing assignments, activities, rubrics and course structures in Canvas and other Ed Tech utilized that streamlines the programmatic assessment process at NUNM
• Help establish and maintain consistent course standards/competencies across academic programs in conjunction with program deans.
• Coordinate the extraction and organization of Canvas and other Ed Tech assessments and rubric/quiz data for analysis and, where appropriate, import into centralized repository for institutional and programmatic effectiveness.

Academic Assessment

• Coordinate the University’s ongoing academic assessment processes in collaboration with academic leadership, program deans, faculty, and other stakeholders.
• Maintain and support curriculum maps, program outcomes, course outcomes, competencies, KPIs, assessment measures, and associated documentation within a centralized solution for measuring programmatic effectiveness.
• Assist programs with establishing appropriate assessment measures, benchmarks, and methods for evaluating student learning.
• Coordinate established accreditation assessment reporting cycles and ensure required assessment information is collected and entered according to institutional timelines.
• Pull, review, organize, and interpret assessment reports and assist academic leadership in identifying trends, areas of strength, and courses, outcomes, or program areas falling below established assessment benchmarks.
• Document assessment findings, interventions, and subsequent reassessment so each cycle demonstrates a complete loop of data collection, review, improvement, and reassessment ("closing the loop").

Accreditation & Institutional Effectiveness

• Collect, organize, and maintain academic assessment evidence required for institutional and programmatic accreditation, and keep it readily available for accreditation reports and site visits.
• Support program-specific accreditation assessment requirements, including requirements associated with specialized accreditors.

Training, Documentation & Collaboration

• Provide group and individual training and ongoing support to faculty, staff, and deans on Education Technology and institutional assessment processes.
• Participate in committees and working groups related to academic technology, assessment, curriculum, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness as assigned.
• Stay current on emerging LMS functionality, assessment practices, and technologies that may improve academic operations and student learning.

Education/Experience

• Master’s degree in education, instructional design, educational technology, assessment, higher education administration, information systems, or a related field.
• Experience working with Education Technology in a higher education or comparable educational environment.
• Experience supporting faculty, instructors, or other end users with educational technology.
• Experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, or reporting academic or institutional data.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to learn and administer complex technology platforms.
• Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple recurring processes and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical processes into clear instructions for users with varying levels of technical experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, academic leadership, administrative staff, and technical teams.
• Experience administering Canvas, Lecturio, Voice Thread, Proctorio, and Kaltura in a higher education environment.
• Experience with SPOL or another institutional assessment/planning platform.
• Experience with curriculum mapping, student-learning outcomes, competencies, rubrics, and academic assessment.
• Experience supporting institutional or specialized accreditation.
• Familiarity with NWCCU accreditation standards and expectations.
• Experience with instructional design, faculty development, or online learning.
• Experience using LMS-generated data for institutional or program-level assessment.
• Familiarity with accessibility and universal design principles in online learning environments.
