Job summary

Piramal Pharma Limited is seeking a Manager - OE (Special Projects) to drive foundational and thematic OE initiatives aligned with the long-range plan across PPS manufacturing sites. The role provides hands-on support to site OE leads and teams for deployment and maturation of programs.

The ideal candidate brings 6–10 years of OE experience, strong Lean/Six Sigma expertise, and a track record of leading TPM, ToC, and AI-enabled improvements, with capability to train and coach across functions.

Qualifications

  • 6–10 years of experience in Operational Excellence at manufacturing locations/Corporate/Consulting firms.
  • Exposure to Lean production Systems, Daily Management System, Policy Deployment, Factory Operating Systems.
  • Hands-on leadership in Bex/OpEx/ME Models to drive culture shift and Lean mindset.
  • Experience driving Lean, TPM, ToC, Six Sigma initiatives and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Drive foundational and thematic OE initiatives per global framework and LRP.
  • Refine initiatives with OE team and leadership to meet key business challenges.
  • Define and program manage thematic initiatives like OEE, OTIF, COPQ, AI-enabled VSM, and LSS certifications.
  • Provide on-site/remote support to site OE teams for deployment of programs.
  • Deliver training to build OE capabilities across sites and leaders on LSS belt modules.
  • Coach users in Lean, ToC and Six Sigma tools to solve problems.

Job Title

Manager - OE(Special projects)

Job Description

The primary objective of the role is to drive the implementation and program manage the OE special foundational & thematic projects in line with the OE framework and LRP, across the PPS manufacturing sites. Providing academic and hands-on support to the site OE leads and Site teams for deployment and maturation of these programs.

  • EXTERNAL: Vendors, Consulting firms
Reporting Structure

The role directly reports to Chief Manager-OE(DMS and Special projects)

Qualification
  • M tech/B Tech in Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or M.Pharm, Lean Six Sigma BB certified.
  • Certification in WCOM/TPM/ Mfg. Excellence/ BEx is desirable.
Experience
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in the area of Operational Excellence at any manufacturing location/Corporate/Consulting firm.
  • Good exposure to the deployment of Lean production Systems/ Daily Management System/ Policy Deployment/Factory Operating Systems.
  • Hands-on experience in leading & implementing Bex/OpEx/ME Models through teams in manufacturing sites (preferably Pharma), to bring cultural transformation and Lean mindset & behaviors.
  • Should have driven projects/initiatives based on approaches i.e. Lean, TPM, ToC, Six Sigma, etc.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build a strong working relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate high levels of Ownership & Accountability.
  • Ability to organise the work, plan well and prioritise based on impact.
  • Action-oriented and results-driven.
  • Analytical with strong command over MS Excel, PowerPoint, Data Analytics, and Minitab.
  • Ability & experience in the deployment of Digital use cases in IoT, AI, ML & Data analytics.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for driving the foundational and thematic initiatives as per the global OE framework and the long-range plan.
  • Should work closely with the core OE team and the leadership to refine the initiatives and approach in LRP, to help address the key business challenges.
  • Should be able to define, refine, and program manage the thematic initiatives, i.e. OEE improvement, OTIF improvement, COPQ reduction, AI-enabled VSM, LSS WB/YB/GB/BB certification, etc.
  • Should be open to the special requirements to support any key challenge and add to the current program, in discussion with the manager.
  • Should take regular opportunities for a step-back view on the development and challenges against the key imperatives, and induce enhancement in the OE LRP accordingly.
  • Should partner with the other OE team members to cohesively drive the key OE program and agenda.
  • Ensure the business and site imperatives/KPIs are achieved through the DMS as an overarching program.
  • Should partner with the site OE leads to facilitate the strategy deployment process effectively and efficiently, towards the objective of Zero Defects, Zero Deterrents, Zero Harm, and Zero Waste.
  • Can ensure the key burning issues of the sites are translated adequately through the PMS standard, across the tiers.
  • Conduct data analytics and diagnostics to identify improvement opportunities in processes.
  • Amalgamate the thematic improvement projects with DMS elements, to enhance Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and safety continuously.
  • Provide on-site/remote assistance to the site OE leads and the teams, for smooth implementation of the foundational and thematic initiatives, as per the OE LRP.
  • Strategise and deliver the training events to enhance the capability of site OE resources and leaders on the LSS belt modules.
  • An expert in the use of Lean, ToC, and Six Sigma tools & methodology.
  • Coach and guide the users on utilising these tools appropriately to implement projects and drive problem-solving.
  • Should be able to proactively identify obstacles and thus assist in managing the projects.
  • Facilitate drafting and sharing of the MIS and participate in the OE governance model.
  • Drive the digitalization of applicable foundational & thematic programs.
