Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited is seeking a senior leader to head the Motor & Drivetrain manufacturing for EV 3-Wheeler production, driving SQCDP targets and operational excellence. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, optimize capacity, implement lean, digital transformation, and ensure compliance with quality systems.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical or Production degree is mandatory.
• 15–20 years of experience in motor/drivetrain manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Motor & Drivetrain manufacturing operations to meet SQCDP targets.
• Manage and develop Production Officers and shop-floor teams for high performance.
• Plan manpower, capacity, and resources to support current and future demand.
• Drive production execution and adherence to plans and KPIs.
• Own and improve key manufacturing metrics (OEE, FPY, throughput, cycle time).
• Lead Lean, Kaizen, 5S, value-stream mapping and waste-elimination initiatives.
• Provide technical oversight of winding, motor assembly, drivetrain assembly, testing, and NVH validation.
• Lead root-cause analysis and CAPA for quality, production, and field issues.
• Establish SOPs, process controls, and standard work; strengthen governance.
• Drive cost optimization, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and NPD on launches and changes.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, EHS, and audit expectations; foster safety culture.
• Develop and execute short- and long-term manufacturing strategies for productivity and scalability.

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Job Purpose

Lead and manage the complete Motor & Drivetrain manufacturing function for EV 3-Wheeler production, ensuring achievement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Productivity, and People (SQCDP) targets. Drive operational excellence through strategic manpower planning, process optimization, capacity enhancement, lean manufacturing, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives while building a high-performing manufacturing team.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Motor & Drivetrain manufacturing operations to consistently achieve Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Productivity (SQCDP) targets.
• Manage and develop a team of Production Officers and shop-floor personnel, ensuring high performance, accountability, and succession readiness.
• Plan manpower, resource allocation, and capacity requirements to support current production demands and future business growth.
• Drive production execution and ensure adherence to manufacturing plans, customer commitments, and operational KPIs.
• Own and improve key manufacturing metrics including OEE, FPY, throughput, productivity, cycle time, rejection, and rework.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Line Balancing, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and waste elimination projects.
• Provide technical oversight of winding, motor assembly, drivetrain assembly, testing, NVH validation, and end-of-line processes to ensure process stability and product quality.
• Drive root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for quality, production, and field-related issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Establish, review, and strengthen SOPs, process controls, standard work practices, and manufacturing governance systems.
• Lead cost optimization, automation, and digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and manufacturing competitiveness.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and NPD teams to support new product launches, engineering changes, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, EHS, statutory requirements, customer standards, and audit expectations while fostering a strong safety culture.
• Develop and execute short-term and long-term manufacturing strategies to enhance productivity, scalability, quality performance, and operational excellence across the Motor & Drivetrain value stream.
