Job summary

ENGIE India is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Manager to lead HSE across renewable energy construction sites in India. You will define and improve safety plans, conduct audits, and ensure strict compliance with regulations and ENGIE standards.

You will oversee incident investigations, drive weekly KPI reporting, and foster a strong safety culture among ENGIE staff, contractors, and site workers. Travel across sites will be frequent.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science/Engineering with ADIS and NEBOSH certification.
• 10 to 15 years of proven HSE experience, preferably in construction for renewable energy or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Indian HSE regulations and standards.
• Ability to lead diverse teams including ENGIE staff and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Drive the implementation of ENGIE's Health & Safety standards across multiple renewable energy construction sites in India.
• Define, lead, and continuously improve H&S plans and protocols aligned with group rules, local regulations, and international standards.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate HSE risks through site audits, HAZID/HAZOP studies, and corrective action plans.
• Lead incident investigations, ensure timely reporting, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Foster a proactive safety culture among ENGIE teams, EPC contractors, OEMs, and all site workers through training and drills.
• Monitor H&S KPIs, analyse data, and deliver weekly summary reports and recommendations to Head of H&S.
• Oversee Permit to Work, LOTO, and other critical safety systems for compliance at all sites.

As a Senior Health & Safety Manager, you will champion a culture of safety excellence across our construction sites. What You'll Do

What You Bring

• A Degree or Master's in Science/Engineering with a Government-recognized Advanced Diploma in Industrial Fire & Safety (ADIS) and NEBOSH Diploma or Certificate.
• 10 to 15 years of proven HSE experience, ideally in construction for renewable energy or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of Indian Health & Safety regulations and industry standards for construction sites.
• Effective managerial skills to lead diverse teams including ENGIE staff, EPC contractors, and site workmen.
• Excellent analytical and organizational abilities with proficiency in MS Office, data analysis, and reporting tools.
• Fluency in English and Hindi, both spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel frequently at short notice across construction and O&M sites in India.

Location

This position is site-based in India, covering a cluster of renewable energy construction sites. The role requires an on-site working arrangement with frequent travel to other construction and O&M sites across the country.
