Job summary

Shriram Life Insurance in Hyderabad seeks an experienced in-house counsel to draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts, including MSAs, leases, NDAs, SLAs, and licensing agreements. You will implement contract management templates and clause libraries to accelerate contracting and mitigate risk.

You will advise internal stakeholders on legal implications, coordinate with external counsel for disputes, maintain records, and contribute to policy updates.

Qualifications

• Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts including MSAs, leases, NDAs, SLAs and licensing agreements.
• Experience in implementing contract management templates, clause libraries and approval workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage contract lifecycle processes and reduce legal risk.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Drafting and Negotiation: Prepare standard templates, Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including MSAs, Lease Deeds, Leave and License Agreements, vendor and supplier contracts, SaaS and technology agreements, NDAs, SLAs, professional services agreements, licensing agreements, and amendments.
• Contract Lifecycle Management: Implementation of Contract Management Portal, Establish and maintain templates, clause libraries, and approval workflows to accelerate contracting and reduce legal risk.
• Review and vetting of the HR and License Agreement, drafting of formal communications to be addressed to the Landlord and advising the concerned team with legal opinion and associated legal implications.
• Providing legal Advice to internal stake holders based on facts and supporting documents ensuring timely guidance aligned with legal, regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Provide guidance to internal teams for handling disputed cases, high risk or sensitive claims
• Maintain litigation tracker, case summaries and necessary records.
• Support distribution channels and customer journey structuring for contracts/agreements.
• Coordinate with external counsel and assist in litigation and dispute matters.
• Conduct legal training and awareness sessions for internal teams.
• Contribute to policy updates, SOPs, and governance improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

• LL.B. from a reputed law college.
• 5-7 years of postqualification experience in life insurance company / corporate / commercial law with substantial exposure to drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Experience in inhouse legal teams or law firms preferred.
• Jurisdictional Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Indian corporate, contract, and regulatory law.
• Technical Skills: Proven experience with contract management systems, MS Office.
