Job summary

Alation, Inc. seeks a senior accounting leader to own end-to-end accounting for non-US entities (EMEA, APAC, LATAM) ensuring US GAAP compliance and timely reporting. You will close monthly/quarterly books and collaborate with global teams.

The role includes mentoring two Senior Accountants, driving process improvements, and coordinating audits across jurisdictions. CPA/CA preferred; NetSuite experience highly valued. Ability to work across time zones a plus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with international/multi-entity exposure.
• CPA/CA certification or equivalent preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and local statutory reporting across jurisdictions.
• Experience in a private SaaS/tech company is a plus.
• NetSuite experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting operations for non-US subsidiaries (EMEA, APAC, LATAM).
• Manage statutory compliance and local filings across jurisdictions with local advisors/auditors.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes including intercompany eliminations.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting in the US for consolidation and reporting.
• Serve as primary contact for international audit activities across jurisdictions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop two Senior Accountants.
• Implement process improvements for efficiency, scalability, and controls in international accounting.
• Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements with Legal/Tax teams.
• Assist with technical accounting research related to international operations.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own the end-to-end accounting operations for all non-US subsidiaries, including EMEA, APAC, and LATAM entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and applicable local standards.
• Manage statutory compliance and local filing requirements across all international jurisdictions, partnering with local advisors and external auditors as needed.
• Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes for international entities, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Partner with the Corporate Accounting team in the US to support consolidated financial reporting and ensure alignment across the global close process.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for international audit activities, coordinating documentation, responses, and deliverables across all jurisdictions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop two Senior Accountants, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, scalability, and controls across the international accounting function.
• Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements in collaboration with legal and tax teams.
• Assist with technical accounting research and memos as they relate to international operations.

You Should Have

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant exposure to international and multi-entity accounting.
• CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and experience with local statutory reporting requirements across multiple international jurisdictions.
• Experience working within a private SaaS or technology company is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• A self-starter mindset with a strong sense of ownership, someone who takes initiative, drives work forward independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to manage and develop a team, with a track record of building high-performing accounting functions.
• Flexibility and willingness to work across global time zones, including availability during US business hours as needed to support cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across geographies and time zones.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and process excellence.
• Nice to have: NetSuite design and development experience
