Alation, Inc. is seeking an experienced International Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Accounting team in Chennai, India.

You will own the accounting and compliance for international subsidiaries across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM, reporting to the Assistant Controller and partnering with global stakeholders. You will lead a small team, drive US GAAP reporting, ensure statutory filings, manage month-end closes, and collaborate on transfer pricing, audits, and process improvements to scale our

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with international exposure.
• CPA, CA, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and local statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience in a private SaaS or technology company is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• Leadership experience managing a team of accountants.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting for all non-US subsidiaries (EMEA, APAC, LATAM) with US GAAP and local standards.
• Manage statutory compliance and local filing requirements across international jurisdictions.
• Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes for international entities, including intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Partner with the US Corporate Accounting team for consolidated reporting and alignment.
• Serve as primary contact for international audits and manage documentation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop two Senior Accountants.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, controls, and scalability.
• Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements with legal and tax teams.
• Assist with technical accounting research related to international operations.

Alation is seeking a motivated and driven International Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Accounting team, based out of our Chennai, India office. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role is a critical member of our global finance organization, owning the accounting and compliance functions for Alation’s international subsidiaries across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM. As Alation continues to scale, this individual will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across our global footprint.

This is a highly collaborative, cross‑functional role that requires flexibility and availability to engage with global stakeholders across multiple time zones, including overlap with US business hours.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the end-to-end accounting operations for all non-US subsidiaries, including EMEA, APAC, and LATAM entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and applicable local standards.
• Manage statutory compliance and local filing requirements across all international jurisdictions, partnering with local advisors and external auditors as needed.
• Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes for international entities, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Partner with the Corporate Accounting team in the US to support consolidated financial reporting and ensure alignment across the global close process.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for international audit activities, coordinating documentation, responses, and deliverables across all jurisdictions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop two Senior Accountants, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, scalability, and controls across the international accounting function.
• Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements in collaboration with legal and tax teams.
• Assist with technical accounting research and memos as they relate to international operations.

You Should Have

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant exposure to international and multi-entity accounting.
• CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and experience with local statutory reporting requirements across multiple international jurisdictions.
• Experience working within a private SaaS or technology company is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
• A self‑starter mindset with a strong sense of ownership, someone who takes initiative, drives work forward independently, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proven ability to manage and develop a team, with a track record of building high‑performing accounting functions.
• Flexibility and willingness to work across global time zones, including availability during US business hours as needed to support cross‑functional collaboration.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across geographies and time zones.
