Job summary

Kent, the energy sector leader, seeks a Finance & Corporate Governance leader in Mumbai to drive budgeting, reporting, and governance. You will coordinate financial planning, risk management, and stakeholder communications while guiding a high-performing team.

With 5–10 years in finance and corporate secretarial roles and professional qualifications, you will influence strategic decisions for the organisation’s growth in the Indian market.

Qualifications

  • Degree and/or professional qualification in finance, accounting or governance.
  • 5–10 years of finance and corporate secretarial experience preferred.
  • Experience with IFRS/Ind AS and regulatory compliance is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Develop long-term financial plans and investment scenarios.
  • Lead internal controls and statutory audits, ensuring compliance.
  • Coordinate Board meeting logistics, agendas and resolutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Finance Management Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Develop long-term financial plans.
  • Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support strategic business planning and investment decisions.
Financial Reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP).
  • Present financial performance reports to senior management and the Board.
  • Manage management reporting dashboards and KPIs.
Treasury & Cash Flow
  • Monitor daily cash flows.
  • Optimize working capital.
  • Manage banking relationships.
  • Arrange project financing and working capital facilities.
  • Forecast liquidity requirements.
Budget Control
  • Monitor departmental budgets.
  • Control operating costs.
  • Review capital expenditure proposals.
  • Recommend cost optimization initiatives.
Audit & Internal Controls
  • Coordinate statutory audits.
  • Lead internal audits.
  • Ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Maintain strong internal financial controls.
  • Develop finance policies and procedures.
B. Company Secretarial Responsibilities Board & Committee Management
  • Organize Board Meetings.
  • Prepare Board agendas.
  • Draft Board resolutions.
  • Prepare minutes of meetings.
  • Maintain statutory registers.
  • Manage committee meetings.
Corporate Governance
  • Ensure compliance with the Companies Act.
  • Advise Directors on governance matters.
  • Monitor regulatory developments.
  • Implement governance best practices.
Regulatory Compliance
  • File statutory returns.
  • Coordinate filings with relevant authorities.
  • Maintain corporate records.
  • Ensure timely annual filings.
Shareholder Services
  • Conduct Annual General Meetings.
  • Manage Extraordinary General Meetings.
  • Handle shareholder communications.
  • Maintain share records.
  • Coordinate dividend processes
Secretarial Documentation
  • Maintain:
    • Statutory Registers
    • Share Certificates
    • Board Records
    • Corporate Records
    • Corporate Policies
Your Knowledge/Skills, education and experience:
Qualifications Education/Certifications:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA or equivalent professional qualification (highly desirable)
  • Company Secretary (CS)
Experience
  • 5–10 years of finance and corporate secretarial experience.
  • Experience in Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, or Infrastructure sectors is preferred.
  • Experience with Board governance and statutory compliance.
  • Exposure to IFRS/Ind AS reporting and audits.
