Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy seeks a Deputy/Manager - Mill Maintenance to oversee mechanical operation and maintenance of mill equipment in Gurugram, Haryana. You will plan preventive and predictive maintenance, lead a team, and ensure safety standards across shifts.

The role requires a BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering with 10–18 years of relevant experience in WRM/Bar Mill or Long Product Mills, and hands-on expertise in TPM, RCA, and Kaizen to optimize equipment uptime and performance.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 10–14 years' mechanical maintenance experience in WRM/Bar Mill/Long Product Mills.
• 14–18 years' experience in mill operation/maintenance with proven team leadership and project management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical operation and maintenance of mill equipment, including stands, gearboxes, spindles, couplings, roller tables, shears, laying heads, and pinch rolls.
• Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and resolve chronic issues via RCA.
• Supervise stand assembly, pass setup, and roll changes with safety and accuracy.
• Coordinate shutdown maintenance with production and electrical/instrumentation teams.
• Apply TPM/RCM/Kaizen and use vibration analysis and thermography for performance optimization.
• Prepare annual and monthly maintenance plans, budgets, and inventories of spare parts and tools.
• Monitor alignment, vibration, temperature, and lubrication of critical components; optimize energy use.
• Ensure safety standards, SOPs, PPE usage; conduct safety audits and risk assessments.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical operation and maintenance of mill equipment, including stands, gearboxes, spindles, couplings, roller tables, shears, laying heads, and pinch rolls.
• Ensure high equipment availability by planning and executing preventive and predictive maintenance, minimizing downtime, and resolving chronic mechanical issues through root cause analysis (RCA).
• Supervise stand assembly, pass setup, and roll change activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
• Coordinate shutdown maintenance with production and electrical/instrumentation teams for smooth mill functioning.
• Apply reliability improvement principles (TPM, RCM, Kaizen) and utilize predictive maintenance tools like vibration analysis and thermography for performance optimization.
• Prepare and manage annual and monthly maintenance plans, budgets, and inventory of critical spare parts, consumables, and maintenance tools.
• Monitor and maintain alignment, vibration, temperature, and lubrication of critical components; optimize resource utilization and energy consumption.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety standards, SOPs, and PPE usage. Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and maintain compliance with ISO and OHSAS standards.
• Coordinate across department teams for maintenance planning, roll and guide change schedules, and real-time feedback on mill performance.
• Maintain comprehensive records of breakdowns, downtime analysis, work orders, and equipment history in SAP/CMMS systems; prepare detailed maintenance and performance reports.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians, fostering teamwork, accountability, and ongoing skill development through training programs.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualifications & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.

• Deputy Manager: 1014 years' mechanical maintenance experience in WRM/Bar Mill/Long Product Mills.
• Manager: 14–18 years' experience in mill operation/maintenance with proven team leadership and project management.
