Job summary

Sarthee Consultancy in Nashik is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee mechanical operation and maintenance of mill equipment, including stands, gearboxes, spindles, and rollers. You will lead the team to maximize equipment availability through preventive and predictive maintenance.

The role requires implementing TPM/RCM, conducting safety audits, planning maintenance budgets, and coordinating with production for downtime.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• Deputy Manager: 10–14 years' mechanical maintenance experience in WRM/Bar Mill/Long Product Mills.
• Manager: 14–18 years' experience in mill operation/maintenance with proven leadership and project management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical operation and maintenance of mill equipment, including stands, gearboxes, spindles, couplings, roller tables, shears, laying heads, and pinch rolls.
• Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment availability.
• Supervise stand assembly, pass setup, and roll change activities with safety compliance.
• Coordinate shutdown maintenance with production and electrical/instrumentation teams.
• Apply TPM, RCM, Kaizen; use vibration analysis and thermography for performance optimization.
• Prepare and manage annual and monthly maintenance plans, budgets, and inventory of spare parts and tools.
• Monitor alignment, vibration, temperature, and lubrication of critical components; optimize energy usage.
• Ensure safety standards, SOPs, and PPE; conduct safety audits and risk assessments; ISO/OHSAS compliance.
• Coordinate maintenance planning across departments and track performance metrics.
• Maintain records in SAP/CMMS; prepare maintenance and performance reports.
• Lead and develop engineers, supervisors, and technicians through training.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical operation and maintenance of mill equipment, including stands, gearboxes, spindles, couplings, roller tables, shears, laying heads, and pinch rolls.
• Ensure high equipment availability by planning and executing preventive and predictive maintenance, minimizing downtime, and resolving chronic mechanical issues through root cause analysis (RCA).
• Supervise stand assembly, pass setup, and roll change activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety standards.
• Coordinate shutdown maintenance with production and electrical/instrumentation teams for smooth mill functioning.
• Apply reliability improvement principles (TPM, RCM, Kaizen) and utilize predictive maintenance tools like vibration analysis and thermography for performance optimization.
• Prepare and manage annual and monthly maintenance plans, budgets, and inventory of critical spare parts, consumables, and maintenance tools.
• Monitor and maintain alignment, vibration, temperature, and lubrication of critical components; optimize resource utilization and energy consumption.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety standards, SOPs, and PPE usage. Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and maintain compliance with ISO and OHSAS standards.
• Coordinate across department teams for maintenance planning, roll and guide change schedules, and real-time feedback on mill performance.
• Maintain comprehensive records of breakdowns, downtime analysis, work orders, and equipment history in SAP/CMMS systems; prepare detailed maintenance and performance reports.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians, fostering teamwork, accountability, and ongoing skill development through training programs.

• Deputy Manager: 1014 years' mechanical maintenance experience in WRM/Bar Mill/Long Product Mills.
