Job summary

GMR Energy is seeking a senior data and analytics leader to define and implement the data strategy that powers decisions across the organization.

The role leads a team of data professionals, driving actionable insights using SQL, Python, R, and BI tools. You will partner with business units to translate data needs into scalable solutions, ensuring governance and compliance and delivering executive-ready dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10–15 years of experience in data analytics leadership.
• Certification in Python, data analytics or visualization tools required.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the implementation of a long-term data strategy aligned with organizational goals.
• Manage and grow a high-performing data and analytics team, fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the use of analytical tools (SQL, Python, R) to extract insights that drive strategic decisions.
• Guide the development of dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or Looker for executive decision-making.
• Establish and enforce enterprise-wide data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
• Act as a strategic partner to business units, translating data needs into actionable solutions.

JOB PURPOSE

1. Strategic Data Roadmap & Execution
   • Define and lead the implementation of a long-term data strategy aligned with organizational goals.
   • Prioritize data initiatives based on business impact, scalability, and innovation potential.
2. Leadership & Team Development
   • Manage and grow a high-performing data and analytics team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
   • Set clear goals, conduct performance reviews, and support career development.
3. Advanced Data Analysis & Business Insights
   • Oversee the use of analytical tools (SQL, Python, R) to extract insights that drive strategic decisions.
   • Ensure analytical outputs are aligned with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.
4. Data Visualization & Executive Reporting
   • Guide the development of dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to support executive decision-making.
   • Ensure visualizations are impactful, accurate, and tailored to diverse audiences.
5. Data Governance & Compliance Oversight
   • Establish and enforce enterprise-wide data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
   • Collaborate with IT and legal teams to manage data risks and regulatory requirements.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
   • Act as a strategic partner to business units, translating data needs into actionable solutions.
   • Lead stakeholder communications, manage expectations, and ensure alignment between data initiatives and business objectives.
