Job summary

HSBC in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Manager, Data Analytics to drive data-driven decisions across product lines and customer lifecycles. You will write efficient code, analyze large data sets, and translate business problems into analytical solutions.

You will monitor fraud-detection systems, identify risks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement scalable analytics. A strong background in SAS/SQL/Python and finance domain knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a numerical discipline.
• Experience in financial services or banking operations preferred.
• Knowledge of SAS, SQL, Python or BigQuery.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager, Data Analytics

In this role, you will:

• Execute various analyses and develop strategies to support business decisions across the customer lifecycle for a particular product/market
• Execute moderate to complex analysis and strategy with proper instructions
• Write efficient codes to process data for the required business problems andAbility to convert business problem to an analytical problem.
• Identify business problems/new opportunities to drive higher business value. Diagnose and resolve moderate to complex analytical problems
• Manage the ongoing monitoring of the fraud detection systems to ensure that they are performing optimally and in line with appetite & manage flash fraud attacks
• Interpret and manipulate large data sets to extract trend and identify issues and risk

To be successful you will:

• Strong analytical skills with business analysis aptitude. Knowledge and understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations is preferred
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from reputed university with specialization in numerical discipline engineering specializations. Understanding of financial-services/ banking-operations preferred.
• Good knowledge of programming tools, preferably with proficiency in any one or combination of tools such as SAS, SQL, Big query, Python
• Business problem solving skills is essential
• Prior experience in the banking domain would be given preference
• Enthusiasm for proactively seeking, exploring and developing use cases for new data and/or tools/wider industry trends
