Job summary

The Corporate Institute is seeking a senior finance professional to oversee financial reporting for the organization and its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

The role includes coordinating quarterly consolidation for 18 subsidiaries, managing bank relations, guiding audit processes, and building internal controls and MIS for cost management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain standalone/consolidated financial statements for the organization and subsidiaries.
• Develop and maintain system for timely maintenance of financial information per accounting standards.
• Prepare standalone/consolidated accounts for 18 subsidiaries quarterly, ensuring compliance with Listing Obligations, Companies Act, Ind AS/IGAAP.
• Liaison with actuary for actuarial valuation of employee benefits (Gratuity, EL, ML and LSA).
• Ensure compliance with MSMED Act.
• Quarterly analysis of trial balance and P&L variations across SBUs.
• Monitor bank developments and implement changes in accounts in SAP.
• Prepare monthly corporate MIS report comparing expenses with budgets.
• Support other controlling activities such as analysis of expenses across SBUs.

Job description

Key Individual Accountabilities:

Financial:

• Preparation and maintenance of standalone/consolidated financial statements for the organization including its subsidiaries.
• Develop and maintain system for prompt and timely maintenance of financial and accounting information incorporating changes on account of latest developments in accounting standards.
• Preparation of standalone/Consolidated accounts after incorporating 18 subsidiaries (including 2 foreign subsidiaries) every quarter and complying with requirements of:
  1. Listing Obligations (earlier Clause 41 of the listing agreements) with stock exchanges.
  2. Companies Act (Including Schedule III).
  3. Ind AS/Accounting Standards/other IGAAP.
• Liaison with actuary/units for actuarial valuation of employee benefits e.g. Gratuity, EL, ML and LSA.
• Compliance with MSMED Act.
• Quarterly analysis of trial balance and P&L variations for different businesses across the organization.
• Responsible for ensuring the implementation of any changes made to the accounts due to concerned bank developments.
• Monitor LC/BG and posting of bank related documentations/transaction in SAP system.
• Prepare monthly corporate MIS report stating the comparison of expenses and budget of the corporate functions.
• Other activities related to Controlling (e.g. analysis of certain expenses across the SBUs etc).

Customer/ External Orientation:

• Plan for quarterly review/statutory audit, liaison with different auditors/unit accounts heads, addressing all audit issues and ensuring timely completion of audit.

People Orientation:

• Provide training to the employees of business unit accounts department on any changes implemented on the accounts in the organization.
• Guide SSC team at corporate on bank updates and changes.

Core operational accountabilities:

• Responsible for the physical verification of all the assets of corporate units conducted once in three years.
