Job summary

Lonza in Hyderabad, India, is seeking a Manager of Corporate Accounting to strengthen global financial governance and standardize finance processes. The role combines governance, accounting excellence, and participation in finance transformation initiatives across our international organization.

You will collaborate with stakeholders worldwide to drive process harmonization, policy adherence, and scalable control frameworks while enabling future-ready finance operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Extensive IFRS experience in global finance operations.
• Expert SAP FI/CO experience (ECC/S/4HANA).
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional finance initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Professional qualifications like CPA or CIMA are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Govern the global Chart of Accounts and standardize usage.
• Review/approve GL accounts with Global Master Data teams.
• Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies globally.
• Oversee reconciliation policy adherence and corrective actions.
• Act as SME and guidance to finance teams and stakeholders.
• Support finance transformation programs, SAP S/4HANA implementations.
• Develop training and change management materials.

Manager - Corporate Accounting

Locations: Hyderabad, India

This is an office-first role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and team alignment, enabling us to deliver our best work. You will work primarily in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for 40% of your time (two days per week).

The actual location of this job is in Hyderabad, India. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

Working closely with stakeholders around the globe, you will support process harmonization and business integration projects, to establish standardized, scalable, and future-ready finance processes while advancing Lonza's mission of manufacturing the medicines of tomorrow.

What you will do:

• Govern the global Chart of Accounts, driving simplification, standardization, and effective use across the organization.
• Review and approve the creation and maintenance of general ledger accounts in partnership with Global Master Data teams, ensuring adherence to governance standards.
• Drive compliance with Corporate Accounting policies, standards, and governance requirements across global finance operations.
• Oversee adherence to the global account reconciliation policy through review of supporting documentation, identification of gaps, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Serve as a Corporate Accounting & Controlling subject matter expert, providing guidance to finance teams, process owners, project teams, and business stakeholders worldwide.
• Support and shape finance transformation programs, process harmonization initiatives, S/4HANA implementations, and business integration projects.
• Develop training, communication, and change management materials that enable successful adoption of new accounting processes, governance frameworks, and system enhancements.

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced degree is advantageous.
• Strong experience in operational accounting, financial accounting, shared services, or a related finance environment.
• Deep experience with IFRS and global accounting best practices.
• Strong experience with SAP (FI/CO) and end-to-end integration across AR/AP, Asset Accounting, Procurement, Sales, Production, and Projects, with experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives, drive process improvements, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, CIMA, or SAP FI/CO certifications are beneficial.
