Job summary

Lonza is recruiting a Manager, Corporate Accounting in Hyderabad to strengthen governance and drive standardization across our international finance operations. You will lead the Chart of Accounts governance, partner with Global Master Data, and drive SAP FI/CO integration within SAP ECC/S/4HANA environments, supporting S/4HANA implementations and finance transformation.

• Degree in accounting or finance with professional qualifications preferred (CPA/CIMA beneficial).
• Strong IFRS knowledge and global accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Govern the global Chart of Accounts and drive standardization across the organization.
• Review and approve general ledger accounts in partnership with Global Master Data.
• Ensure governance of Corporate Accounting policies and global finance operations.
• Oversee adherence to reconciliation policies and implement corrective actions.
• Act as SME for Corporate Accounting & Controlling and guide global teams.
• Support finance transformation, harmonization, and SAP/S4HANA initiatives.

Job description

This is an office‑first role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and team alignment, enabling us to deliver our best work. You will work primarily in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for 40% of your time (two days per week).

The actual location of this job is in Hyderabad, India. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

Working closely with stakeholders around the globe, you will support process harmonization and business integration projects, to establish standardized, scalable, and future-ready finance processes while advancing Lonza's mission of manufacturing the medicines of tomorrow.

What you will do:

• Govern the global Chart of Accounts, driving simplification, standardization, and effective use across the organization.
• Review and approve the creation and maintenance of general ledger accounts in partnership with Global Master Data teams, ensuring adherence to governance standards.
• Drive compliance with Corporate Accounting policies, standards, and governance requirements across global finance operations.
• Oversee adherence to the global account reconciliation policy through review of supporting documentation, identification of gaps, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Serve as a Corporate Accounting & Controlling subject matter expert, providing guidance to finance teams, process owners, project teams, and business stakeholders worldwide.
• Support and shape finance transformation programs, process harmonization initiatives, S/4HANA implementations, and business integration projects.
• Develop training, communication, and change management materials that enable successful adoption of new accounting processes, governance frameworks, and system enhancements.

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced degree is advantageous.
• Strong experience in operational accounting, financial accounting, shared services, or a related finance environment.
• Deep experience with IFRS and global accounting best practices.
• Strong experience with SAP (FI/CO) and end-to-end integration across AR/AP, Asset Accounting, Procurement, Sales, Production, and Projects, with experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives, drive process improvements, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, CIMA, or SAP FI/CO certifications are beneficial.
