Job summary

GMR Power Urban Infra is seeking a Contracts and Compliance specialist to oversee the contract lifecycle from pre- to post-contracting and drive CLM-led operations across the organization. You will shape, track, and implement compliance agendas while managing critical priorities and information flow for the CLM Department.

This role requires hands-on drafting of commercial contracts, risk assessment, and close collaboration with senior leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and standardized

Qualifications

• 4-8 years experience in contracts, legal operations, or contract management.
• Strong experience in commercial contract drafting and review across pre- and post-execution stages.
• Hands-on experience with at least one CLM platform (Icertis, Agiloft, Sirion, ContractPod or similar).
• Proven ability to work with senior leadership and handle strategic projects and operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of coordination for managing priorities, information flow, and follow-ups across functions and business units.
• Support contracting activities focusing on risk allocation, compliance, and standardisation.
• Track progress of CLM related projects and support obligation mapping and risk tracking.
• Coordinate with business owners, finance, and operations to track performance, renewals, and disputes.
• Contribute to development of standard reports on contract performance, risk, and compliance.
• Act as a key user for CLM platform: configuration inputs, testing, workflows, and templates.
• Monitor CLM adoption and data quality; highlight improvement opportunities.
• Support rollout of contract and compliance policies, playbooks, and SOPs integrating CLM processes.

JOB PURPOSE

This role will require high-level executive office management with hands‑on work across pre‑contracting, post contracting, and CLM‑led contract operations. The incumbent acts as a specialist who shapes, drives, and tracks the contracts and compliance agenda across the contract lifecycle, while also managing critical priorities, information flow, and follow-through for the CLM Department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Act as the point of coordination for managing priorities, information flow, and follow-ups across functions and business units.
• Support when requirement on contracting activities focusing on risk allocation, compliance, and standardisation.
• Track progress of CLM related project and support obligation mapping, risk and milestone tracking, and creation/updating of obligation registers and compliance calendars within or alongside the CLM.
• Coordinate with business owners, finance, and operations to track performance, variations, renewals, terminations, and disputes, and escalation issues with recommended options.
• Contribute to development and refinement of standard reports on contract performance, risk, and compliance for leadership reviews.
• Act as a key user or champion for the CLM platform, supporting configuration inputs, testing, workflows, templates, clause libraries, and user training material.
• Monitor CLM adoption and data quality, run basic analytics (e.g., cycle times, bottlenecks), and highlight improvement opportunities
• Support drafting and rollout of contract and compliance policies, playbooks, and SOPs that integrate with CLM‑enabled processes.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

• 4-8 years experience in contracts, legal operations, or contract management, preferably in a corporate/group environment
• Strong experience in commercial contract drafting and review across pre- and post-execution stages, with exposure to risk assessment and compliance obligations.
• Hands-on experience with at least one CLM or contract management platform (e.g., Icertis, Agiloft, Sirion, ContractPod, or similar).
• Proven ability to work closely with senior leadership, manage sensitive information, and handle both strategic projects and detailed operational tasks.
