Fueled by bold thinking, radical simplicity, and a relentless delivery mindset, our high-performing, globally aligned teams bring speed, agility, and scale to power T-Mobile's digital Un-carrier future.
About the Role:
At TMUS Global Solutions, we don't just build technology, we take care of the people who build it. We're looking for a Manager, Benefits to be our on-the-ground employee benefits partner in Hyderabad. This is a newly created role that sits at the heart of our people experience — the person employees call when they have a question about their health coverage, the person vendors hear from when service falls short, and the person who makes sure T-Mobile's India office stays fully compliant as we scale rapidly.
You’ll report to the US-based Senior Manager, International Benefits, who sets global strategy and works with our global broker partners. Your job is to bring that strategy to life locally, running the day-to-day, building trusted relationships, and making sure every employee at TMUS Global Solutions knows their benefits and feels supported.
What You’ll Do:
Benefits Administration & Communications (35%):
- Administer day-to-day benefits programs including group health insurance, life and personal accident insurance, EPF, ESIC, gratuity, and other statutory and supplemental offerings.
- Create and maintain India-specific benefits communications — enrollment guides, onboarding decks, FAQs, and renewal materials — in partnership with the Senior Manager, International Benefits and vendors.
- Collect employee feedback and benefit enhancement requests and surface these insights to the Senior Manager, International Benefits to inform future program decisions.
Vendor & Broker Relationship Management (25%):
- Own the day-to-day working relationship with local insurance brokers, carriers, TPAs, and other benefits vendors in India.
- Be the first point of escalation when vendor service falls short — investigate, follow up, and resolve.
- Support annual contract renewals and plan negotiations in close coordination with the Senior Manager, International Benefits and T-Mobile's global broker.
- Track vendor performance against service commitments and proactively flag risks before they become problems.
Statutory Compliance & Regulatory Administration (20%):
- Maintain full compliance with all applicable Indian labor laws and statutory requirements: EPF, ESIC, Gratuity, Maternity Benefit Act, and the consolidated Labour Codes (effective November 2025).
- Keep employee enrollment and contribution records accurate across HRIS and statutory portals (EPFO, ESIC, Shram Suvidha).
- Support internal and external audits and ensure all statutory filings and contributions are completed on time.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to stay ahead of regulatory changes and translate their impact into action.
Employee Experience & Support (10%):
- Be the go‑to benefits resource for all India-based employees — answering questions, resolving issues, and providing empathetic, timely support throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Run benefits onboarding for every new hire — explaining coverage, walking through enrollment, and making sure no one starts their first day confused about what they're entitled to.
- Run in‑person information sessions, open enrollment events, and new hire orientations.
- Be a steady, knowledgeable resource for employees navigating claims, life events, and coverage questions.
- Also responsible for other duties and projects as assigned by business management as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
Must Have:
- Min 4-7 years of benefits administration or HR operations experience, with hands-on management of insured benefits (group health, life, personal accident) and Indian statutory schemes (EPF, ESIC, Gratuity).
- Deep knowledge of Indian labor law and statutory compliance requirements, including the consolidated Labor Codes effective November 2025.
- Experience working within an organization where the parent company or leadership is US-based or global, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across time zones.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) — you’ll be in regular communication with US-based leadership and our global broker.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred), statutory portals (EPFO, ESIC, Shram Suvidha), and benefits administration systems.
- Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail — enrollment accuracy, compliance filings, and invoice processing can't have gaps.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — employees need to trust you, vendors need to hear from you, and US-based leadership needs to rely on your read of what's happening on the ground.
- Comfort in ambiguity and a fast-paced, scaling environment where priorities shift and the playbook is still being written.
Nice to Have:
- 2-4 years of vendor and broker management experience, including contract renewals and escalation resolution.
- Experience in a high-growth environment with large headcount ramp-ups, new office buildouts, or post-acquisition integration.
- Familiarity with India market benchmarking tools and survey data (e.g. Mercer, Willis Towers Watson, Aon).
- Master's degree / MBA in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as CBP (Certified Benefits Professional), GRP, or equivalent.
Why TMUS Global Solutions:
- A genuinely greenfield opportunity — you’ll be the first benefits professional on the ground in India, with real influence over how this function is built.
- Direct access to senior leadership in the US — your Senior Manager sets strategy, you own execution, and your voice matters.
- A fast-scaling environment with ~750 employees today and significant growth ahead — no two years will look the same.
