Job summary

Samvith Technologies in Bengaluru seeks an Application Engineer specialized in grinding to drive process development across cylindrical, internal, surface, centerless and CNC grinding. You will work with design, manufacturing and service teams to translate customer drawings into robust grinding solutions and standard cycles.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer component drawings, specifications, tolerances and process requirements.
• Develop suitable grinding processes and machine configurations for customer applications.
• Select appropriate grinding wheels, tooling, fixtures, dressing systems and coolant solutions.
• Define grinding parameters such as wheel speed, feed, depth of cut, dressing parameters and cycle time.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new grinding applications.
• Develop process sheets, application reports and technical proposals.
• Plan and conduct grinding trials at the company's facility or customer locations.
• Optimize grinding cycles to achieve required accuracy, surface finish, productivity and tool life
• Analyze trial results and recommend process improvements.
• Validate machine capability against customer requirements.
• Support FAT/SAT and machine commissioning activities where required.
• Work closely with customers to understand technical requirements and application challenges.
• Provide technical solutions for grinding-related problems.
• Visit customer sites for trials, process development, troubleshooting and technical discussions.
• Handle application-related customer complaints and ensure timely resolution.
• Build strong technical relationships with key customers.
• Support the Sales team during technical discussions and customer visits.
• Study RFQs and provide technical inputs for machine selection and costing.
• Prepare technical specifications and application proposals.
• Participate in customer presentations and technical negotiations.
• Support Sales in demonstrating machine capability and application benefits.
• Develop new grinding applications for Cylindrical, Internal, Surface, Centerless and/or CNC Grinding, depending on company product range.
• Develop standard grinding cycles and application know-how.
• Improve productivity through cycle-time reduction and process optimization.
• Evaluate new grinding wheels, abrasives, coolants, dressing technologies and automation solutions.
• Identify opportunities for standardization and cost reduction.
• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Service and Sales teams.
• Provide application inputs for machine design and customization.
• Support engineering teams in resolving application-related technical issues.
• Ensure application requirements are clearly communicated during machine manufacturing and assembly.
• Assist Service teams in resolving complex customer application issues.
• Maintain application databases, process parameters and trial reports.
• Prepare technical reports and customer presentations.
• Develop standard application guidelines and best practices.
• Maintain records of successful applications and lessons learned.
• Train application engineers and other technical team members.

Key Responsibilities

1. Application Engineering
