Job summary

Dozco in Visakhapatnam is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Cylindrical and Surface Grinding machining line. You will schedule operations, supervise engineers and operators, and ensure quality control and safety standards are met on the shop floor.

The role requires a Diploma or Graduate with around 15 years in asst./deputy manager positions, with proficiency in grinding operations, production management, drawing interpretation, and quality tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in Cylindrical/Surface Grinding machining lines.
• Ability to interpret drawings and ensure quality through tools like SPC/QA checks.
• Strong production planning and line supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule machine operations to meet production deadlines and optimize processes.
• Supervise and train production engineers and machine operators to ensure quality and safety.
• Enforce QC procedures, reduce scrap, and conduct in-process inspections to micron-level accuracy.
• Assist with grinding operations, machine setup, tool selection, and troubleshooting.
• Reduce machine downtime through proactive planning and problem-solving.
• Drive Kaizen, 5S and continual improvement activities on the shop floor.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and documents.
• Ensure safe practices and housekeeping on the shop floor.
• Report to HOD - Production Department.

Role & responsibilities

• Production & Planning: Scheduling Machine operations to meet production deadlines, optimizing processes for efficiency, and managing daily shop floor activities..
• Supervising, mentoring, and training Production Engineers & Cydlindrical/Surface Grinding Machine operators to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Enforcing Quality Control (QC) procedures, reducing scrap, and conducting in-process inspections to ensure compliance with standards, often up to micron-level accuracy.
• Assisting with Grdining operations, machine setup, tool selection, and troubleshooting to resolve machinery breakdown or technical issues.
• Reduce machine downtime through proactive planning and quick problem-solving.
• Responsible for implementation of Kaizen,5S & Continual improvement activities.
• Prepare & maintain appropriate Porduction Reports & Documents.
• Ensure Safe practices and good housekeeping are implemented in the shop floor.
• Ensure good behavior, work ethics, and discipline on the shopfloor
• Reports to the H.O.D -Production Department

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma/Graduate candidate with a minimum of 15 Years experience in Asst.Manager/Deputy Manager role of Cydlindrical/Surface Grinding Machining Line
• Proficiency in Gridning operations,Production management, interpreatation of drawings, and usgae of quality tools.
