Job summary

John Cockerill is seeking a procurement professional based in Mumbai to handle sourcing of machined components, fabrication and sheet metal parts in line with drawings and QAP. You will manage RFQs, quotes, cost analyses, negotiations, and end-to-end procurement from PR to PO to delivery and payments.

The role requires hands-on experience with SAP and E-Procurement tools, with emphasis on timely supplier onboarding, lead-time reduction, and achieving lowest TCO.

Qualifications

• Experience in machining, fabrication, surface treatment, packaging and logistics.
• Proficient in SAP, MS Office, and E-Procurement tools.
• End-to-end procurement from PR to PO to deliveries and payments.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies for equipment to improve quality and reduce lead time.
• Ensure on-time ordering and delivery per manufacturing schedule.
• Develop price norms and frame agreements; manage tenders and contracts.
• Drive supplier development and maintain interface with internal and external stakeholders.
• Adhere to ISO standards and manage documentation per guidelines.

Job Purpose –

Responsible for procurement of Machined components, Fabrication and sheet Metalcomponents, terminal assemblies (SPMs) as per engineering drawings, specificationsand QAP.

Key Result Areas

• Preparing sourcing strategies for Strategic categories of equipment to improvequality, reduce delivery lead time , cost reduction and to mitigate supply chainrisk.
• On time ordering & On time delivery of equipment to as per manufacturingschedule.
• Develop & maintain price norms, frame agreements/ Rate contracts.
• Developing processes to deliver quality equipment, reduce lead time andachieve lowest TCO model.
• Vendor development.
• End to End procurement responsibilities from PR to PO to deliveries topayments.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Handling complete supply chain which includes
• a. Understand engineering drawings, specifications, quality plan.
• b. Identify competent, potential supplies and send RFQs
• c. Evaluate quotes, do cost analysis, prepare estimate.
• d. Negotiate for betterment, finalize commercial terms and conditions.
• e. Initiate CS and proposal/approval with necessary justifications.
• f. Create and release Pos in SAP.
• g. Identify bottlenecks, expedite for timely deliveries.
• h. Maintain interface between Internal stakeholders ( QA, Projects, Finance,Design) and External stakeholders ( Suppliers/Service providers, Third parties).
• i. Documentation as per management guidelines.
• j. Adhere to ISO Standards and guidelines.
• k. Perform market research & develop Existing/ new supplier.
• l. Be resourceful in pre-sales activities.

Should have experience/thorough knowledge of machining , fabrication, surface treatment, packaging and logistics.

Should be well versed in SAP, MS oice, E-Procurement tools.
