Job summary

John Cockerill is seeking a Chief Manager / Assistant Chief Manager - Procurement in Taloja to lead planning and execution of manufacturing activities for steel plant projects. The role requires SAP MM/PP expertise, strong communication and leadership skills, and a background in heavy machinery fabrication.

The selected candidate will coordinate with multiple departments, manage RFQ preparations, and monitor project progress against milestones while ensuring compliance with QAP and contractual

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical / production Engineering from a reputed university with 8 to 10 / 10 to 15 years of experience in Mfg. planning & execution of heavy machine building industry, preferably with steel plant OEM.
• Good knowledge of various manufacturing processes of engineering industry.
• Good knowledge of machine drawings and technical specifications.
• Hands on experience in SAP (MM/PP) functionalities.

Responsibilities

• Planning & execution of various Mfg. activities, for projects related to steel plant equipment.
• Drawing/design study for understanding various Mfg. processes involved & related technical requirements.
• Carrying out various SAP functions related to procurement & production planning (MM/PP modules).
• Preparation of RFQ for procurement of various Mfg. components (Fabricated, Machined components) and equipment.
• Co-ordinating with concern departments or agencies for resolving technical problems or queries observed during pre-procurement phase.
• Monitoring & Tracking of different manufacturing activities like Fabrication, Procurement, Machining, Assembly and Dispatch on a periodic basis.
• Coordination with various functions or departments like Purchase/Projects/Design/Production etc.

1.Job Purpose

• To manage Planning and execution of Manufacturing activities of projects related to steel plants.

2.Key Result Area

• To plan various manufacturing processes to meet manufacturing & dispatch schedules as per contractual obligations.
• To prepare RFQ after drawing / Design study and technical requirements as per QAP.
• To monitor, track and report project progress against major milestones.

The candidate should be
