Job summary

John Cockerill is seeking a procurement professional responsible for sourcing machined components, fabrication and sheet metal parts in alignment with engineering drawings and QAP. The role covers vendor development, price norms, and end-to-end procurement from PR to PO and delivery, ensuring on-time manufacturing support.

Candidate should have hands-on experience with machining, fabrication, surface treatment, packaging and logistics, and be well versed in SAP, MS Office and E-Procurement

Responsibilities

• Understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Invite RFQs, evaluate quotes and perform cost analysis.
• Negotiate terms and conditions; finalize commercial terms.
• Initiate CS and approvals with necessary justifications.
• Create and release POs in SAP; monitor delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with internal QA, Projects, Finance and external suppliers.

Job Purpose

Responsible for procurement of Machined components, Fabrication and sheet Metal components, terminal assemblies (SPMs) as per engineering drawings, specifications and QAP.

Key Result Areas

Preparing sourcing strategies for Strategic categories of equipment to improve quality, reduce delivery lead time , cost reduction and to mitigate supply chain risk.
On time ordering & On time delivery of equipment to as per manufacturing schedule.
Develop & maintain price norms, frame agreements/ Rate contracts.
Developing processes to deliver quality equipment, reduce lead time and achieve lowest TCO model.
Vendor development.
End to End procurement responsibilities from PR to PO to deliveries to payments.

Key Responsibilities

Handling complete supply chain which includes

• Understand engineering drawings, specifications, quality plan.
• Identify competent, potential supplies and send RFQs
• Evaluate quotes, do cost analysis, prepare estimate.
• Negotiate for betterment, finalize commercial terms and conditions.
• Initiate CS and proposal/approval with necessary justifications.
• Create and release Pos in SAP.
• Identify bottlenecks, expedite for timely deliveries.
• Maintain interface between Internal stakeholders ( QA, Projects, Finance, Design) and External stakeholders ( Suppliers/Service providers, Third parties).
• Documentation as per management guidelines.
• Adhere to ISO Standards and guidelines.
• Perform market research & develop Existing/ new supplier.
• Be resourceful in pre-sales activities.

Should have experience/thorough knowledge of machining , fabrication, surface treatment, packaging and logistics.
Should be well versed in SAP, MS oice, E-Procurement tools.
