Responsibilities
- Lead and manage members of the India-based accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance, professional development, and team success.
- Collaborate with U.S.-based client accounting delivery teams on work deliverables, deadlines, and workload.
- Assign responsibilities, set clear expectations, and monitor team progress to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statement schedules, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for each client assigned to the team.
- Review financial reports for accuracy, completeness, and consistency while providing guidance and insights as needed.
- Manage and support the team with new and existing client work assignments, onboarding tasks, staff training, and mentoring.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies aligned with business objectives, and assist with sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and communication.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, partners, and clients.
- Inspire and motivate accounting team members by conveying compelling visions for the team’s future success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations with expertise in financial reporting and analysis.
- 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, including management and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, delivering results, and achieving objectives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills across functional teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to provide support and direction during decision making.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in multiple accounting software, including QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Xero, or Intacct.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience setting up and implementing systems and procedures is a plus.
- Chartered Accountant, CPA, or CMA license preferred.
