Job summary

Sun Pharma in Baroda seeks a Manager2 Biotechnology to establish and lead the downstream group within the Biological Drug Substance Unit, delivering purification processes and clinical batches on time and within budget.

The role includes design, planning, operation and monitoring of downstream activities, scale-up and GMP production, expertise in large molecule recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies, and mentoring junior scientists.

Qualifications

• M. Sc./M.Tech in Biochemistry / Life Sciences / Biotechnology.
• 10+ years of experience in downstream processing and related GMP activities.
• Proficient in chromatographic systems, TFF and scale-up for biologics.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the downstream group within the Biological Drug Substance Unit to deliver purification processes and clinical batches on time and within budget.
• Design, planning, operation and monitoring of downstream activities for development, scale-up and GMP production.
• Provide expertise in downstream process development of large molecules, recombinant proteins, and monoclonal antibodies; mentor junior staff.

Job Objective

• Establish and lead the downstream group within the Biological Drug Substance Unit with process and operations-based expertise to support delivery (on time and within the budget) of developed purification processes and of clinical batches of purified recombinant proteins
• Responsible for the design, planning, operation and monitoring of the downstream group and this for development activities as well as for scale-up and GMP production
• Expertise in downstream process development of large molecules recombinant protein and monoclonal antibodies.
• Proficient in handling of chromatographic systems.
• Candidate should possess sound knowledge of operating the TFF system, filtration system and should be capable in interpreting the experimental results using standard tools.
• The candidate should be familiar in downstream process scale-up principles.
• Should be conversant with interpretation of analytical and process data.
• Should be proficient in writing document such as BMR, SOPs, Investigational protocols and reports etc.
• Mentor junior scientists or associates, providing scientific and technical expertise and guidance on downstream processing
