Job summary

Sun Pharma in India seeks an experienced IP Manager to lead life cycle management of both NCE and branded portfolios from an IP perspective, ensuring freedom to operate and robust competitive tracking.

The role involves due diligence for in-licensing/out-licensing, contract reviews (CDA, IITs, MSA, MTA), opportunity identification for APIs and formulations, and collaboration with external attorneys across geographies.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s in Pharmacy with strong IP background.
• Experience in patent law, drafting and prosecution.
• Proven ability to manage IP portfolios and licensing processes.

Responsibilities

• Life cycle management of NCE and branded IP portfolios; conduct freedom-to-operate and validity analyses.
• IP due diligence for in-licensing/out-licensing opportunities; support licensing projects.
• Review agreements including CDA, IITs, MSA and MTA; coordinate with external attorneys across geographies.

Management of the branded portfolio from IP perspective

NCE Portfolio

• Life Cycle management of NCE portfolio from IP perspective including competition tracking
• Ensuring FTO of in-house NCEs
• Supervising Search and analysis- in NCEs and related competition
• Agreement review including CDA, IITs, MSA, MTA etc.
• Performing validity analysis of blocking patents

Branded Portfolio

• Life Cycle management of branded portfolio from IP perspective including competition tracking
• IP support for out-licensing projects
• Agreement review including CDA, IITs, MSA, MTA etc.
• Freedom to operate for in-house branded portfolio
• Opportunity identification for APIs and formulations
• Performing validity analysis of blocking patents

Due Diligence For In-licensing/out-licensing Opportunity

• IP due diligence for technologies and products for in-licensing
• IP support for out-licensing projects
• Agreement review related to in-licensing/out-licensing opportunity.
