Job summary

IOL CHEMICALS AND PHARMACEUTICALS LIMITED in Barnala is seeking a Manager in Engineering to oversee mechanical maintenance in chemical plants and ZLD sections. You will plan budgets, implement preventive programs and ensure compliance with GMP, ISO and internal guidelines.

The role involves maintaining SAP maintenance records, coordinating with stores and QA, and guiding project design and cost-friendly improvements. Experience in heavy industry maintenance and team leadership is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, budget and implement mechanical maintenance across chemical plants & ZLD section to meet production targets.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns.
• Maintain GMP/ISO/Regulatory documentation (SOPs, formats, CAPAs, deviations, investigations).
• Maintain preventive maintenance records, equipment qualification and consumables per guidelines.
• Update maintenance records in SAP and support new project design and budgeting.
• Coordinate with stores and purchasing to maintain critical spare parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and coordinate training and staff development.

JOB TYPE :Full time / Contract

1. Planning, budgeting & implementation of Mechanical Maintenance of all equipment in various chemical plants & ZLD Section (North Block Area) , so that their performance is as per requirement to achieve the set production targets smoothly.

2. To Implement Preventive Maintenance program of all chemical plants/ ZLD sections (N.Block) as per schedule to prevent sudden breakdowns.

3. To prepare/initiate/maintain all QMS documents like SOP, Formats, RFDs, Manual, Change Control, CAPA, incident, deviation and investigations etc.

4. To prepare/ maintain all documents like Preventive Maintenance records, Equipment Qualification, consumable records etc. as per GMP, ISO, Regulatory & IOLCP guidelines.

5. To maintain/ update the preventive maintenance/ maintenance record in SAP.

6. Mechanical support in the designing, budgeting & implementation of new projects as per good engineering practices.

7. To maintain optimum inventory level of critical spares in close co-ordination with Store & Purchase Department.

8. Planning and implementation for new expansions, modifications & improvement projects to minimize operational costs.

9. To ensure compliance of Legal concerns, internal as well as External Audit reports.

10. To form the Performance review of employees, training need identification, implementation of training programs.

11. Resource planning, deployment and their optimum utilization.

12. To undertake any other duties as appropriate and as required by the organization.

13. To allocate job to contractor and Co-ordinate with them to ensure the proper working.

14. To execute day to day activities like Shutdown, Breakdown, Maintenance of Equipment, Preventive maintenance, etc.

15. To coordinate with managers for allocating the manpower effectively and ensure maximum productivity and review the Performance of employees and coordination with Human Resource Department for appropriate staffing levels.

16. To impart On Job and ATC trainings to sub-ordinates as per the identified the training needs and keep the staff motivated.

17. In case of absence, Job delegation will be assigned to fellow Engineer/ Associate General Manager.

18. To ensure the compliance of Social Accountability and the provisions of the Information Security Management System (ISMS).

19. Environment, Health & Safety (EHS):

19.1 To work in a manner that complies with the company EHS policies as informed by concerned area In-charge.

19.2 Providing necessary information / equipment to subordinates to protect their health.
19.3 Auditing his/her area of control for improvement w. r. t. EHS and implementing corrective actions for all violations as highlighted in safety audits

19.4 Ensure that organizational training requirements have been completed and provide individual employees with training specific to the area in which they are working.

19.5 Making subordinates available for attending in house /out house EHS training.

19.6 Taking disciplinary actions against violators of EHS rules/regulations as highlighted during audits.

19.7 Prepare accident reports and forward copies to EHS and implement recommended corrective actions to avoid recurrence.
