Job summary

Comfort Castors, a manufacturer/exporter of industrial castors and wheels, seeks a hands-on Quality Head to own QA/QC and the Quality Management System as MR across the site. You will oversee incoming, in-process, final and supplier quality with authority to stop dispatch on quality risk.

The role demands 10–15 years in manufacturing quality, deep ISO 9001 knowledge, and readiness to lead a quality team while driving audits, CAPA, PPAP/APQP and systematic improvements.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of Quality experience in an engineering/manufacturing company.
• Strong exposure to sheet metal, press components, fabrication, machining/CNC, welding, assembly and preferably polyurethane/plastic components.
• Experience managing a Quality team.
• Strong practical knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality systems.
• Good understanding of 7 QC tools, 8D, CAPA, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA and SPC.
• Experience handling customer complaints and customer audits, preferably with export/OEM customers.
• Supplier-quality and vendor-development experience will be strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Head the complete Quality function covering incoming, in-process, final and supplier quality.
• Act as the company's Management Representative (MR) and maintain the Quality Management System.
• Lead ISO, customer, internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Handle customer complaints, root-cause analysis, 8D, CAPA and corrective/preventive actions.
• Establish inspection standards, control plans, SOPs and quality documentation.
• Strengthen supplier quality and work with vendors on recurring quality issues.
• Lead and guide the existing Quality team across incoming, production and final inspection.
• Work closely with NPD on sample validation, PPAP/APQP, testing and production approval before new products are released.
• Monitor process capability, rejection, rework and recurring defects and drive permanent corrective action.
• Ensure products meet customer drawings, specifications and international quality requirements.
• Conduct regular process and product audits on the shop floor.
• Have authority to hold production or stop dispatch where serious quality risks exist.

Salary: 50,000- 70,000 per month; negotiable for an exceptional candidate

Comfort Castors is a 30-year-old manufacturer and exporter of industrial castors and wheels, supplying customers across 25+ countries. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Gurgaon and Jhajjar and is expanding its capabilities in super-heavy-duty, scaffolding and industrial caster systems.

Role Objective:

To take complete ownership of Quality Assurance, Quality Control and the Quality Management System across the company, while acting as the Management Representative (MR) for ISO, customer and external audits. This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership role, not merely an ISO/documentation position.

• Able to challenge Production when required.
• Systematic in root-cause analysis rather than accepting temporary corrections.
• Comfortable communicating directly with customers during quality issues and audits.
• Capable of developing the current Quality team instead of doing everything personally.
• Disciplined, firm and process-oriented.

Reporting Structure:

The Quality Head & MR will report directly to the Managing Director.

Quality must remain independent of Production. Production cannot overrule the Quality Head on product acceptance, rejection or dispatch clearance.
