Job summary

Jindal Steel Limited is seeking a maintenance supervisor to oversee shift mechanical operations in Raigarh. You will monitor breakdowns across mill stands, gearboxes, motors, pumps, hydraulics, lubrication, cooling systems, and conveyors, and coordinate with production, electrical, and instrumentation teams to keep the mill running smoothly.

You will plan preventive and corrective maintenance, support roll and shutdown activities, ensure spare parts and tools availability, and train technicians

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical operations during the shift.
• Monitor and troubleshoot breakdowns in mill stands, gearboxes, motors, pumps, hydraulics, lubrication, cooling systems, and conveyors.
• Coordinate with production, electrical, and instrumentation teams for uninterrupted mill operation.
• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Support roll changes, pass changes, and shutdown activities.
• Ensure availability and proper use of spares, tools, and consumables.
• Maintain shift reports, breakdown logs, and maintenance records.
• Guide and train mechanical technicians and fitters.
• Enforce safety standards and permit-to-work practices.
• Reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and control wastage.
