Job summary

Vaaman Engineers in Rajasthan seeks an experienced Shift Maintenance Supervisor to lead mechanical maintenance activities during the assigned shift, rectify breakdowns, and coordinate with operations teams.

You will implement preventive and predictive maintenance per SAP/CMMS, monitor rotating and static equipment, and ensure safe, compliant operations with proper handovers and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead all mechanical maintenance activities during the assigned shift.
• Attend and rectify mechanical breakdowns with minimum downtime.
• Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams for equipment availability.
• Ensure smooth shift handover and maintain shift logbooks.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules as per SAP/CMMS.
• Monitor condition of rotating and static equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify abnormalities.
• Ensure timely lubrication and equipment health monitoring.
• Responsible for maintenance of Pumps, Gearboxes, Agitators, Conveyors, Belt Conveyors, Crushers, Ball Mills, Blowers & Fans, Compressors, Heat Exchangers, Filters & Filter Presses, Tanks & Reactors, Pipelines & Valves, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems, Material Handling Equipment.
• Participate in planned shutdowns and annual maintenance.
• Verify completion of maintenance activities before equipment startup.
• Follow LOTO procedures, ensure PTW compliance, conduct toolbox talks, PPE compliance, report unsafe conditions and near misses.
• Identify critical spare requirements and coordinate with Planning and Stores.
• Prepare shift reports, update breakdown reports and maintenance history, record equipment failures and corrective actions, support RCA of recurring failures.
• Supervise technicians, fitters, welders, and contractors, allocate daily maintenance work, monitor work quality and productivity, train team members on safe maintenance practices.
• Implement Kaizen and cost-saving initiatives, improve equipment reliability, reduce MTTR and MTBF, support TPM, 5S, and reliability improvement projects.

• Filters & Filter Presses
• Tanks & Reactors
• Pipelines & Valves
• Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
• Material Handling Equipment

4. Shutdown & Planning

• Participate in planned shutdowns and annual maintenance.
• Ensure manpower deployment and contractor supervision.
• Verify completion of maintenance activities before equipment startup.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Follow LOTO procedures.
• Ensure PTW (Permit to Work) compliance.
• Conduct toolbox talks before maintenance activities.
• Ensure PPE compliance.
• Report unsafe conditions and near misses.

6. Spare Management

• Identify critical spare requirements.
• Coordinate with Planning and Stores.
• Verify availability of consumables and maintenance tools.

7. Documentation

• Prepare shift reports.
• Update breakdown reports and maintenance history.
• Record equipment failures and corrective actions.
• Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of recurring failures.

8. Team Management

• Supervise technicians, fitters, welders, and contractors.
• Allocate daily maintenance work.
• Monitor work quality and productivity.
• Train team members on safe maintenance practices.

9. Continuous Improvement

• Implement Kaizen and cost-saving initiatives.
• Improve equipment reliability.
• Reduce MTTR and improve MTBF.
• Support TPM, 5S, and reliability improvement projects.
