Job summary

Transworld Furtichem Pvt. Ltd. in India is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to oversee mechanical maintenance across SSP, GSSP and Phosphoric/Sulphuric acid plants.

The role focuses on preventing breakdowns, improving equipment reliability and ensuring safe, efficient plant operations. You will plan preventive and predictive maintenance, lead outage activities, manage spare parts and coordinate with procurement, safety and production teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in SSP/GSSP fertilizer plants or phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid plants preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vibration analysis, alignment and balancing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities for plant machinery and equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment, including pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, crushers, mixers, dryers, granulation drums and material handling systems.
• Handle maintenance of phosphoric acid plant equipment, including reactors, digesters, vacuum filtration systems, heat exchangers, agitators, slurry pumps, acid transfer pumps, storage tanks and pipelines.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective measures to minimise breakdowns and production downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement reliability improvement measures.
• Plan and coordinate plant shutdowns, turnaround maintenance and equipment overhauling activities.
• Ensure proper maintenance of sulphuric acid storage and transfer systems, scrubbers, dust collection systems and utility equipment.
• Monitor equipment condition through vibration analysis, alignment, balancing, thermography and lubrication practices.
• Identify critical spare parts and coordinate with procurement and stores teams to ensure timely availability.
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, inspection reports and maintenance schedules.
• Update maintenance data in SAP PM, CMMS or other maintenance management systems.
• Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems and statutory inspection requirements.
• Supervise technicians, fitters, welders and contract maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate with production, process, utilities and safety teams to ensure smooth plant operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5 - 10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within fertilizer, chemical or process manufacturing industries.
• Strong hands-on experience in rotating and static equipment maintenance.
• Candidates with experience in SSP/GSSP fertilizer plants or phosphoric acid and sulphuric acid plants will be preferred.
• Knowledge of acid-resistant materials, rubber lining, FRP equipment and corrosion control.
• Experience in preventive maintenance, equipment reliability improvement and plant shutdown activities.
• Strong troubleshooting, team coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in an industrial plant environment and support emergency breakdowns when required.
