Job summary

Align Technology in Hyderabad, APAC IT Delivery Center, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support maintenance planning and reliability initiatives across manufacturing operations. You will drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs, work with cross-functional teams, and help reduce downtime while improving equipment performance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering and a minimum of 3 years in a maintenance engineering environment, with strong RCA/FMEA knowledge and CMMS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience within a Maintenance Engineering environment with reliability-centered maintenance activities.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies, CMMS, industrial mechanical and electrical systems, automation, controls, and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Develop preventive maintenance methodologies and create preventive maintenance work orders.
• Define maintenance scope, planning requirements, and scheduling activities for maintenance programs.
• Serve as a technical SME within designated maintenance areas.
• Develop technical training plans and support capability development within maintenance organization.
• Collaborate with Technician Supervisors to support training initiatives and daily operational activities.
• Provide technical support to Maintenance Technicians and Planners to improve maintenance effectiveness.
• Conduct equipment quality audits to identify maintenance requirements and job scope details.
• Estimate labour requirements, work hours, and total job durations for maintenance activities.
• Plan spare parts, materials and resources to maximize technician productivity.
• Utilize RCA, Failure Analysis and FMEA to prevent equipment failures.
• Analyze recurring equipment failures and develop engineering solutions to improve reliability.
• Implement engineering solutions addressing capacity, quality, cost, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure maintenance work orders are generated, tracked and closed within CMMS systems.
• Communicate critical maintenance process steps and technical requirements to maintenance teams.
• Collect and maintain engineering drawings, technical documentation and equipment specifications.
• Analyze equipment downtime trends and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Managers, Technicians and Automation Engineers to optimize maintenance procedures.
• Maintain and promote 5S standards within maintenance areas.

Description

This position is ideal for maintenance engineering professionals to join the Maintenance team as a Maintenance Engineer, supporting the development and execution of proactive maintenance strategies across manufacturing operations. Partnering with Maintenance Management, Technician Supervisors, Automation Engineers, Maintenance Planners, and Operations teams, you’ll drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability initiatives, and downtime reduction activities. This role is critical in improving equipment performance, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring uninterrupted production through effective maintenance planning and engineering support.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate critical maintenance process steps and technical requirements to maintenanceteams.
• Collect and maintain engineering drawings, technical documentation, and equipmentspecifications.
• Analyse equipment downtime trends and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
• Collaborate with Maintenance Managers, Technicians, and Automation Engineers to optimizemaintenance procedures and future work activities.
• Maintain and promote 5S standards within maintenance work areas.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another related technical discipline from an accredited university.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience within a Maintenance Engineering environment. Experience working in a reliability-centred maintenance environment with hands-on maintenance planning and equipment reliability activities.

Skills: Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), industrial mechanical and electrical systems, automation, controls, robotics systems, equipment reliability, Root Cause Analysis, and FMEA.

Communication: Proficient English communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical requirements, maintenance plans, and operational recommendations across teams.

Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance, automation, engineering, and operations teams while coaching and mentoring engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

Complementary Skills

• Experience supporting reliability-centered maintenance programs.
