Job summary

Luxottica India Eyewear is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance of three Gurgaon labs, ensuring high equipment availability and hands-on involvement. You will organize teams, lead corrective actions, and coordinate preventive maintenance with Production and EHS.

You will drive KPI improvements (MTTR, MTBF, OEE) and manage spares while collaborating with Engineering, CI, and suppliers to optimize performance and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

7 years of relevant experience as Maintenance Engineer with team management.
Experience in similar industry focusing on machine up-time and availability.
Proven ability to develop and execute preventive maintenance plans.
Bachelor/Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

Oversee overall machine maintenance for Gurgaon labs with hands-on role.
Organize maintenance teams to minimize machine breakdowns and downtime.
Participate in daily operations meetings and lead corrective actions.
Build/manage preventive maintenance plans in collaboration with Production.
Collaborate daily with Production, Engineering, CI, and EHS on projects.
Develop and improve KPIs: MTTR, MTBF, OEE, EER, costs, water, energy.
Maintain equipment availability according to defined KPIs; propose improvements.
Manage spares stocks and supplier partnerships for maintenance.
Define/ review supplier contracts and service terms with procurement.
Ensure service quality and supplier deadlines are met.

Job description

Main Focus and Key Areas of Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall machine maintenance of three (3) Gurgaon labs. He oversees all aspects of the maintenance process, from installation and upkeep to inspection and repair, often assuming a hands-on role. His main responsibility is to ensure equipment and machine availability to support operations.

Runs and manages maintenance teams in compliance with regulations and health and safety rules.

Responsible for the following business / functional activities of Vision RX Lab Gurgaon units:

Organize team activities in order to support Production and minimize machine breakdowns
Participate in daily Operations meeting (indicators, general information) and lead immediate corrective actions
Build/manage the preventive maintenance plan and provides instructions in collaboration with Production to ensure service and quality targets
Works closely daily with Production, Engineering, CI, EHS, teams on mid and/or long term projects
Build, follow and improve key process KPIs for the department (Example: MTTR (Medium time to repair), MTBF (Medium time between failure), OEE (overall efficiency equipment), EER (equipment efficiency reliability), cost, water, energy, waste)
Maintain availability of the equipment according to the KPIs defined and if necessary propose equipment improvement or new equipment
Manage the spares stocks
Define the right partnership between the teams (maintenance and suppliers)
Responsible to define and review specifications and requirements for suppliers contracts purchased by procurement department in order to fulfil the needs of maintenance department
Define the quality of the service and the delay required to the suppliers, ensure the terms are respected with suppliers

KPIs
