Job summary

Synbiotics Limited in India is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of production and utility equipment. You will manage technicians and fitters to minimize downtime and safeguard production continuity.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience in pharma API environments, knowledge of GMP documentation, calibration basics, and strong troubleshooting with cross-functional teams. Shift work and safety compliance are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–5 years in pharma API or bulk drug maintenance.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of GMP documentation practices.
• Understanding calibration and qualification activities.
• Strong troubleshooting and team coordination skills.

Responsibilities

Role & responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of production and utility equipment.
• Manage and schedule manpower (technicians/operators/Fitters) for maintenance activities.
• Ensure minimum downtime and reduce production loss due to equipment failure.
• Maintain proper engineering documentation such as SOPs, preventive maintenance schedules, and breakdown records.
• Ensure adherence to GMP requirements and safe maintenance practices.
• Support calibration activities and maintain equipment qualification status.
• Coordinate with QA for HVAC qualification/requalification activities (if applicable).
• Conduct training and awareness programs for technicians and operators.
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure engineering practices do not lead to product contamination risks.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of plant maintenance and utility systems (HVAC, compressors, boilers, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in preventive maintenance planning and breakdown analysis.
• Knowledge of GMP environment and documentation practices.
• Basic understanding of calibration and qualification activities.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage a team and coordinate with cross-functional departments.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• 1 to 5 years of experience in the pharma API / bulk drug manufacturing industry.
• Experience in handling both mechanical and electrical maintenance activities.
