Job summary

Mphasis is seeking a Mainframe Lead in Pune with 8–10 years of hands-on development experience. You will work on COBOL, JCL, VSAM, and DB2, with exposure to CICS/MQ, and be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying changes.

The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex business rules into technical specifications. You will participate in rotation shifts and work on-site, collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality delivery and system

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of hands-on development experience.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and mainframe utilities.
• Experience in CICS/MQ series.
• Strong analytical skills to translate business rules into technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, unit test, turnover, implement and support changes.
• Write and execute unit test scenarios to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and debug to resolve issues and optimize performance.
• Present designs to peers and Product Owner for approval.

ROLE: Mainframe Lead

Technical Skills:

• Combination of COBOL, JCL, VSAM with DB2 Resources need to be strong developers
• 5 to 9 years of Hands-on Development experience
• Very good Hands-on in Cobol, JCL, VSAM, Db2, Mainframe Utilities,
• Strong Coding experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM.
• Work experience in CICS / MQ series.
• Strong analytical skills to independently analyze complex code and extract business rules.
• Willingness to WFO ODC (No WFH).
• JAVA / JASON-LD will be an added advantage.
• Strong ability to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical specification.
• Ability to design, code, unit test, turnover, implement and support the changes.
• Writing and executing the unit test scenarios/cases to ensure the code quality and reliability.
• Deep understanding of all lifecycle components (code, test, deploy)
• Ability to present designs to peers and Product Owner for approval.
• Troubleshooting and debugging code to resolve technical issues.
• Optimizing application performance to ensure efficient use of software resources.
