Job summary

Tech Mahindra in India seeks a hands-on Mainframe Developer with strong COBOL, JCL, CA7, DB2 and SQL skills for real-time and batch processing. The role focuses on design, analysis and coding in a complex mainframe environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience, familiar with z/OS connects, SFTP, SOAP/REST APIs, and modern SCM tools such as Endeavor and GitHub, and can troubleshoot incidents while supporting security and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mainframe development including design, analysis and coding for mainframe, COBOL, JCL, CA7, DB2 and SQL real-time and batch processing.
• 5+ years experience implementing z/OS connect, SFTP, SOAP and REST APIs for system-to-system communication.
• Design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL & JCL to meet project requirements.
• Experience using Endeavor and GitHub for source code management.
• Quick starter to troubleshoot incidents and provide business support.
• Ability to perform application support tasks including security/audit reviews.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills in a global environment.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize by business impact.
• Unit and integration testing experience.
• Willingness to migrate existing Mainframe applications.
• Experience with CA Agile Central (Rally) or similar Agile tools.
• Collaborative work with Mainframe Engineering, DBAs, PMs and business partners.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; adapt to changing priorities.

Job description

Primary Skills required:

• A prospective candidate must possess hands on experience in the following skill areas: Mainframe, COBOL, JCL, CA7, DB2 and/or SQL and real-time batch processing.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands on experience in mainframe development background in design, analysis and coding: Mainframe, COBOL, JCL, CA7, DB2 and/or SQL real-time and batch processing.
• 5+ years experience implementing z/OS connect, SFTP, SOAP and REST APIs, and other methods for system-to-system communication and data exchange
• Ability to design, develop and maintain Mainframe COBOL & JCL to meet support and/or project requirements
• Experience using source code management tools such as Endeavor and GitHub
• Quick starter to troubleshoot/resolve incidents and business support items
• Ability to perform application support tasks: systems support, security/audit reviews, and maintenance tasks
• Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills are essential, ability to solve complex problems in a global environment
• Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work based on business impact and urgency
