This is also an opportunity to look beyond day‑to‑day support. You’ll use your knowledge of DB2 and the wider z/OS environment to identify opportunities to improve reliability, capacity and operational efficiency. You’ll work with application teams on database design and SQL performance, automate repeatable administration activities and help ensure database environments are ready for both current workloads and future change.

  • Troubleshoot database incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

  • Monitor and optimize database performance, including SQL tuning, access path analysis, and buffer pool management.

  • Collaborate with application teams on database design reviews, performance tuning, and issue resolution.

  • Drive continuous improvements in database reliability, automation, and operational excellence to support mission‑critical workloads.
