Qualifications

• 4+ Years of experience in Mainframe Application Support with a focus on Natural and Adabas.
• Proven experience working in IBM z/OS environments with solid knowledge of JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, and mainframe utilities.
• Good understanding of CICS, VSAM, batch processing, job scheduling, and production support operations.
• Experience supporting mission-critical applications in a 24x7 production environment, including incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Hands-on experience with scheduling and monitoring tools such as CA-7, Control-M, OPC/TWS, or equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and data correction skills for Natural/Adabas applications.
• Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM tools for incident and service request management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across global teams.

Responsibilities

Your Role

As a Mainframe Application Support Engineer at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients – which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a Mainframe Application Support Engineer at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day‑to‑day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience participating in on‑call production support, major incident management, and disaster recovery exercises.

• Understanding of automation, operational efficiency, and proactive monitoring practices within mainframe environments.
