Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking an experienced Mainframe Application Developer in India. You will design, develop, and migrate legacy COBOL applications, remediating for cloud readiness and ensuring code quality throughout the migration lifecycle.

You will work with COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2/VSAM, while aligning with AWS deployments and CI/CD practices in an Agile, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of experience in Mainframe Application Development.
• Hands-on experience with COBOL development and support.
• Experience with Micro Focus technologies, including Enterprise Developer, Enterprise Server.
• Strong experience with COBOL,JCL,CICS,DB2,VSAM.
• Ability to work in Agile and cross-functional project teams.

• Review, update, and optimize JCL, batch jobs, utilities, and application interfaces.
• Document dependencies, business logic, and technical architecture components.
• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications through migration lifecycle.
• Perform code remediation and resolve platform compatibility, performance issues.
• Support migration and testing of CICS online transactions, batch workloads, and interfaces.
• Assist with DB2, VSAM, IDMS data migration and reconciliation.
• Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and DevOps teams on AWS deployments and CI/CD.

As a Mainframe Application Developer at Kyndryl, you will design, develop, and implement innovative software solutions that drive business value, accelerate customer outcomes, and ensure product success through high-quality code, precision, and a strong commitment to excellence.

What You Will DO

• Analyze and assess existing mainframe applications to identify remediation requirements for cloud migration.

• Modify and remediate COBOL applications for compatibility with Micro Focus Enterprise Server on AWS.

• Review, update, and optimize JCL, batch jobs, utilities, and application interfaces.

• Document application dependencies, business logic, and technical architecture components.

• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications throughout the migration lifecycle.

• Perform code remediation and resolve platform compatibility, performance, and application issues.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
