Job summary

Kyndryl Inc. in India seeks an Enterprise Architecture Leader to drive modernization of enterprise applications, cloud migrations and API-led integrations.

You will design scalable architectures, guide governance, and ensure secure, cost-effective solutions across complex environments. Lead architecture through implementation and transition to operations, mentor teams, and champion AI-assisted engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 12-16 years of experience with 5+ years in Architecture Leadership.
• Proven experience in application portfolio assessment, modernization, and greenfield architecture design.
• Strong expertise in Enterprise/Solution Architecture, API & Integration Architecture, modernization, governance, and non-functional design.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, .NET/.NET Core, Microservices, Distributed Systems, APIs, Messaging Platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Service Bus, etc.).
• Strong Database & Cloud Architecture experience across Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Azure, AWS, or GCP; Solution Architect certification in at least one hyperscaler cloud is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience in AI Agent Architecture including LLMs, RAG, Agent Orchestration, Tool Calling, State Management, Guardrails, Evaluation, and Secure Deployment.
• Proven experience working with large enterprise customers, distributed teams, governance frameworks, and transformation programs.

• AI & Agentic Architecture: Design and govern AI-powered solutions including multi-agent orchestration, RAG, API integrations, memory management, and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Integration & Data Architecture: Lead API-led, event-driven, and hybrid integrations; drive database modernization, migration, and data governance strategies.
• Cloud, Security & Operations: Define cloud architecture across Azure/AWS/GCP, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, resilience, observability, disaster recovery, and security controls.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor engineering teams, lead architecture reviews, POCs, and innovation initiatives while ensuring quality, compliance, and AI-assisted engineering best practices.

The Role

Your role

Lead application assessments, architecture and modernization of enterprise applications, integrations, databases and cloud platforms. Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, resilient and cost-effective solutions. Own architecture through implementation and transition to operations, balancing enterprise strategy with practical delivery, maintainability and business continuity.

Employees in this role define and use design documentation, functional programming specifications, and high level design documents to implement identified components. Ensure implemented components are documented appropriately, unit tested, and ready for integration into the final product. Present/demonstrate implemented product features through playback sessions as required. Provide fixes to defects identified during pre-production and post-production phases in the software development life cycle. Provide work estimates for assigned development work. Guide and explain features, functional objectives, or technologies that are being built to interested parties.

In this role, you’ll design, build and maintain the high-volume business logic that runs on the mainframe. At the same time you’ll play a key role in refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with the mainframe’s core data.

• Industry experience across BFSI, Retail, Healthcare, and/or Manufacturing.

• Knowledge of DevOps, Containers, Observability, Security Architecture, RTO/RPO, and NoSQL technologies.

• Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, mentoring, communication, and delivery planning skills.

• Certifications such as TOGAF, Cloud Architect, Integration/API, Database, Agile, or DevOps.

• Experience with architecture repositories, portfolio management tools, platform engineering, secure architecture, and AI-assisted modernization initiatives.
