Job summary

Newton School of Technology invites applications for a Machine Learning Engineer + Instructor to join our Computer Science Department. This role combines deep AI/ML expertise with academic responsibilities, including designing and delivering course content, practical labs, mentoring, and guiding student projects across NST campuses.

Qualifications

• M.Tech or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; or UGC NET-qualified with a relevant Master’s degree.
• 6+ years of relevant professional/academic experience in AI/ML, Data Science, ML, CS, or related domain.
• Proven experience in teaching, training, mentoring, research, or building and deploying AI/ML solutions.
• Strong understanding of core ML algorithms, including CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, model evaluation, and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Teach Applied AI/ML: design and deliver practical, project-based courses in AI/ML, including Python for ML, Statistics, ML Algorithms, Deep Learning, NLP, Computer Vision, MLOps, and Generative AI.
• Develop Industry-Relevant Curriculum: design and continuously update AI/ML curriculum to reflect current industry tools, techniques, research, and best practices.
• Mentor Student Projects: guide students through hands-on AI/ML projects with code reviews and industry-standard feedback.
• Guide & Mentor Students: advise on practical AI/ML skills, career pathways, internships and placements.
• Stay Current: bring latest AI/ML research, tools, and trends into the classroom.
• Collaborate: work with faculty, leaders, and partners for unified learning.
• Assess Practical Skills: design and evaluate assignments and exams focused on real-world applications.
• Academic Leadership: contribute to faculty development and teaching-learning improvement.

We are currently looking for a Machine Learning Engineer + Instructor to join our Computer Science Department. This is an immediate joining opportunity open across all NST campuses.

The role is ideal for experienced academicians and industry professionals with strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning who are passionate about teaching, mentoring, curriculum development, and shaping the next generation of technology talent.

The position combines deep technical expertise with academic responsibilities, including designing and delivering course content, conducting practical lab sessions, mentoring students, guiding projects, and contributing to the development of industry‑relevant AI/ML education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Applied AI/ML: Design and deliver practical, project‑based courses in AI/ML, including Python for ML, Statistics, ML Algorithms, Deep Learning, NLP, Computer Vision, MLOps, and Generative AI.

Required Skills:

Technical:

• Expert‑level Python programming.
