Job summary

FedEx is seeking a seasoned Aviation Security Leader to oversee security operations across its gateways in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, implement aviation security programs, coordinate with regulators and airport authorities, and drive incident response and investigations.

English proficiency and an AVSEC qualification are required, with additional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline.
• Eight years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in English.
• Basic AVSEC qualification mandatory.
• Additional aviation security certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a dynamic team of security professionals as part of the Global Security Group.
• Manage aviation security operations at company facilities across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
• Oversee security systems procurement, maintenance and disposal.
• Coordinate security assessments and develop security plans for gateways and Regulated Agent sites.
• Ensure compliance with country-specific aviation security directives and FedEx standards.
• Support regulatory inspections, audits, budgets, and vendor management.

What You Will Do

• You will be responsible for Aviation Security, Aviation Security Operations, managing aviation security teams and Security Technology solutions at company facilities in conformity with country specific Aviation Security regulatory directives and FedEx standards.
• Security systems procurement, maintenance and disposal.
• Support gateway project implementation in the region.
• Local gateway security support for regional gateways and hubs in the region.
• Preparation and implementation of aviation security programs.
• Security Guarding & Monitoring.
• Loss Prevention.
• Enforcement & Investigations.
• Security Customer/Vendor Management.
• Contracts & Management.
• Responsible for overseeing and managing aviation security operations at existing and upcoming regional gateways.
• To provide support to ensure compliance and consistency with security policies and procedures.
• Employee and Team administrative activities including hiring, Conduct effective performance reviews, implementation of training/ development initiatives and consistent application of company policy.
• Contribute to the review of standard operating procedures, contracts and other relevant documents.
• Conduct security planning.
• Co-ordinate security assessments of facilities and businesses for the organization.
• Contribute to the development of security plans including the ground protection plan as related to gateway facilities and Regulated Agent sites.
• Support the coordination of regulatory inspections and audits.
• Coordinate with internal departments, airport authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents following the agreed procedures.
• Maintain effective liaison with Aviation security regulator, Airport Security Group, Law enforcing agencies, airport operator, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in functional budgets, cost control and support business development and network improvement plans.
