Job summary

DXC Technology in Chennai, India, is seeking an experienced mainframe developer to design, implement, and support PLI-based applications. You will manage both batch and online processing and provide production support with a 24x7 on-call rotation for critical systems.

You will work with JCL, DB2, PLI/CICS, and mainframe tools, collaborate with DB2, scheduling, and infrastructure teams, and contribute to releases, DR/BCP activities while maintaining documentation and adhering to change management

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in PLI programming on IBM Mainframe.
• Proficiency with JCL, DB2, PLI/CICS, and mainframe tools.
• Experience in production or application support environments.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and maintain PLI mainframe applications.
• Update and enhance programs per business requirements.
• Create and manage JCL, batch jobs, and workflows.
• Deliver production and on-call support; monitor batch issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
• Maintain system availability and stability of business apps.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on issues and change requests.
• Use TSO/ISPF, Endevor, and File-AID for debugging.
• Coordinate with DB2, scheduling, and infrastructure teams.
• Assist with releases, deployments, and DR/BCP activities.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge base.
• Adhere to coding standards and change management.
