Job summary

Solidsteel Mart in Raigarh, India, is seeking a proactive Dispatch & Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end logistics for finished steel products, plan daily vehicle placement, and ensure timely deliveries to dealers and customers.

The role requires strong GST knowledge, experience with bulk material transport, vendor negotiation, and cost optimisation, with excellence in MS Excel and ERP/SAP systems; willingness to travel to plant or logistics sites.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations will be an added advantage.
• Relevant experience in logistics, transportation, dispatch, or supply chain management, preferably in steel, cement, manufacturing, or infrastructure industry.
• Experience in managing bulk material transportation, heavy vehicles, transporter networks, and dealer/customer deliveries.
• Strong knowledge of dispatch planning, freight negotiation, vehicle utilization, and logistics cost optimization.
• Working knowledge of GST-related transport documentation, e-way bills, invoicing, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with ERP/SAP systems will be preferred.
• Strong vendor management, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple dispatches and operational priorities.
• Willingness to travel and work at plant or logistics locations as per business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end logistics operations, including dispatch planning, transportation, and delivery of finished steel products such as TMT bars.
• Plan and monitor daily vehicle placement, loading, dispatch schedules, and timely delivery to dealers, distributors, and customers.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Warehouse, and Finance teams to ensure smooth dispatch operations.
• Manage transporters and logistics vendors, negotiate freight rates, and optimize transportation costs.
• Monitor vehicle utilization, freight expenses, transit time, and delivery performance.
• Ensure proper documentation for dispatches, including invoices, e-way bills, delivery challans, and transport documents.
• Track shipments and resolve delivery delays, transit issues, and customer complaints.
• Ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Monitor logistics budgets, transport bills, freight reconciliation, and cost-control initiatives.
• Maintain MIS reports on dispatches, freight costs, vehicle availability, and delivery performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
