Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in Pune, India to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, work with freight forwarders, customs authorities, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery.

You will manage documentation, customs declarations, permits, and certificates; monitor shipments, respond to inquiries, and support cost-efficient transportation decisions while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation or freight forwarding.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; ERP experience is a plus.

Your responsibilities

You will coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, select the most appropriate transportation solutions while ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. You will collaborate with freight forwarders, transport providers, customs brokers, and external authorities to execute shipments and meet customs requirements. You will prepare, verify, and manage shipping documentation, customs declarations, permits, licenses, and certificates required for successful customs clearance. You will monitor shipment status, respond to customer and internal enquiries, and proactively communicate delivery updates, delays, and potential risks. You will support transportation planning and negotiations by providing freight cost analyses, route evaluations, and alternative shipping solutions while maintaining accurate logistics records and reports.

Qualifications and skills:

A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. 1-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, freight forwarding, or a related function. You have a good understanding of transportation processes, shipping documentation, customs clearance requirements, and supply chain operations. Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage. Strong coordination, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
