• Hands-on loan origination tasks including intake, documentation and coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, BA, Economics or equivalent.
• Proficiency with MS Office and CRM systems.
• Attention to detail, numerical aptitude and ability to work with targets.
• On-site work in Samastipur; field visits when required.
• Knowledge of local markets and relevant regional languages is a plus.

Role Description

The Loan Officer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Samastipur. The Loan Officer will be responsible for sourcing loan applications, guiding prospective borrowers through the loan process, and completing loan origination activities from initial inquiry to disbursement. Daily tasks include assessing borrower eligibility, collecting and verifying documentation, conducting basic financial analysis, and coordinating with underwriting teams to ensure timely and accurate loan approvals. The role also involves providing clear, professional customer service, explaining loan terms and conditions, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Loan Officer will work closely with branch staff to achieve portfolio quality and growth targets while supporting Seeds Fincap’s mission of serving micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Qualifications

• Experience in Loan Officer or similar lending roles, with a solid understanding of loan products and processes.
• Strong Finance and basic accounting knowledge to evaluate borrower profiles and repayment capacity.
• Familiarity with Underwriting principles, credit assessment, and risk evaluation in a lending context.
• Customer Service skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and manage borrower expectations.
• Hands-on experience with Loan Origination activities such as application intake, documentation, and process coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic loan management or CRM systems.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical aptitude, and the ability to work with targets and deadlines.
• Ability to work on-site in Samastipur and conduct field visits when required.
• Knowledge of local markets and comfort communicating in relevant regional languages is an advantage.
