Job summary

Legodesk in Bengaluru is hiring a Legal Associate to work at the intersection of law and product. You will apply your legal expertise to shape our platform, support enterprise clients (banks, NBFCs, ARCs), and drive execution across debt recovery and legal automation workflows.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to build, not just practice, with exposure to product teams, regulatory updates, and scalable templates.

Qualifications

• LLB from a recognized institution and enrolled with a State Bar Council.
• 1–3 years of experience in debt recovery, banking litigation, insolvency, or BFSI legal practice.
• Working knowledge of SARFAESI, IBC, DRT/DRAT, NI Act Section 138, CPC, and IEA.
• Strong drafting skills and eye for procedural detail.
• Comfort with technology and legal software tools.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and standardize legal documents across SARFAESI, IBC/NCLT, DRT/DRAT, and NI Act complaints.
• Build and maintain template libraries, workflow logic, and case-stage checklists for the Legodesk platform.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to translate legal procedure into automatable workflows.
• Support enterprise clients (banks, NBFCs, ARCs, law firms) on platform usage and jurisdictional requirements.
• Track regulatory changes and update platform content accordingly.
• Contribute to Legodesk Academy content on debt recovery, legal drafting, and compliance.
• Assist internal teams with contract review, NDAs, and vendor agreements.
• Coordinate with empanelled advocates and law firms on process standardization and quality benchmarks.

The Role

We are hiring a Legal Associate to work at the intersection of law and product. You will apply your legal expertise to shape our platform, support enterprise clients (banks, NBFCs, ARCs), and drive execution across debt recovery and legal automation workflows. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to build, not just practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and standardize legal documents across SARFAESI (Section 13(2), 13(4), possession notices, Section 14 applications), IBC/NCLT (Section 7, 9, 10 petitions), DRT (Original Applications, SAs), and Section 138 NI Act complaints
• Build and maintain template libraries, workflow logic, and case-stage checklists for the Legodesk platform
• Partner with product and engineering teams to translate legal procedure into structured, automatable workflows
• Support enterprise clients (banks, NBFCs, ARCs, law firms) on platform usage, edge cases, and jurisdiction‑specific requirements
• Track legislative and regulatory changes — RBI Fair Practices Code, DPDP Act 2023, SARFAESI/IBC amendments, court rulings — and update platform content accordingly
• Contribute to Legodesk Academy content on debt recovery, legal drafting, and compliance for tele‑collections, field collections, and legal professionals
• Assist internal teams with contract review, NDAs, vendor agreements, and compliance documentation
• Coordinate with empanelled advocates and law firms on process standardization and quality benchmarks

What We're Looking For

• LLB from a recognized institution; enrolled with a State Bar Council
• 1–3 years of experience in debt recovery, banking litigation, insolvency, or BFSI legal practice (in‑house, law firm, or NBFC/bank legal team)
• Working knowledge of SARFAESI, IBC, DRT/DRAT procedure, NI Act Section 138, CPC, and IEA
• Strong drafting skills and eye for procedural detail
• Comfort with technology — familiarity with legal tech tools, MS Office/Google Workspace; interest in learning how legal workflows get built into software
• Structured thinker who can convert messy procedural realities into clear checklists and playbooks
• Ownership mindset; comfortable operating in a startup with high pace and shifting priorities
