Job summary

Tekskills in Pune seeks a senior Linux engineer with 10+ years of experience across Red Hat/CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE. You will own systems, kernel tuning, and networking, driving reliability and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include automating configuration management with Ansible, Puppet, Chef or SaltStack, scripting in Bash/Python/Perl, and working with VMware, KVM, OpenStack, Docker, and Kubernetes in cloud setups.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux/CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Deep understanding of Linux internals, including kernel, filesystems, processes, and networking.
• Strong expertise in system automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Extensive experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM, OpenStack).
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Load Balancing).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of security best practices for Linux environments.
