Job summary

Philips is seeking a Line Manager to supervise a compact team and drive manufacturing excellence. You will develop forecasts and annual operating plans, ensuring productive use of equipment while maintaining safety and quality.

The role emphasizes Lean methods, NPI integration, and continuous improvement to deliver high‑quality products. The ideal candidate has a mechanical/industrial engineering background with strong leadership and FP&A skills, willing to work onsite in our Pune facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a technical/engineering domain required.
• No prior experience required with Bachelor's Degree OR minimum 4 years with Vocational Education in related fields.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety requirements preferred.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervises and guides a compact team of skilled direct reports, ensuring their productivity and effectiveness in executing tasks with precision and efficiency.
• Develops comprehensive financial forecasts and annual operating plans to strategically guide financial decisions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Maximizes manufacturing performance by meticulously optimizing key metrics such as productivity, equipment utilization, cost of non-quality, and overall efficiency, thereby enhancing operational effectiveness and streamlining production processes.
• Provides thorough and ongoing training to operators in production processes and Health & Safety protocols, prioritizing their competence and safety while executing tasks.
• Ensures strict adherence to specifications and requirements in work instructions and tools utilized throughout the production process, maintaining consistency and accuracy.
• Actively implements Lean project methodologies and facilitates the seamless integration of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to streamline operations, drive efficiency, and foster continuous improvement.
• Takes charge of preparing and implementing manufacturing production processes, meticulously ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high‑quality products and services to customers.
• Innovates and identifies novel methods to optimize workflow, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and driving efficiency and excellence in production operations.
• Guides and mentors the team, actively contributing to employee selection, performance management, compensation management, career development, and overseeing operational processes.

Minimum required Education:

Bachelor's Degree / Vocational Education in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Electronic Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Production Engineering or equivalent.

No prior experience required with Bachelor's Degree OR minimum 4 years of experience with Vocational Education in areas such as Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent.
