Role Description of Tools Engineer

Do

• Deploy the release of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware.
• Troubleshooting problems as reported by users, supporting Web access and electronic messaging services and maintaining a secure systems environment
• Provide infrastructure solutions based on application needs and anticipated growth, install new servers and maintain the infrastructure.
• Able to work collaboratively with clients and other technical colleagues. Individuals work across all functional areas.
• Able to diagnoses and resolves complex hardware, software and connectivity problems.
• Enhanced knowledge of production monitoring and additional capability, may support one or more systems or applications of low to medium complexity (complexity defined by size, technology used, and system feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity, and accessibility

As an Engineering Applications license expert, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing licensing agreements for engineering applications used by the organization. This role requires in-depth knowledge of licensing models for engineering applications and experience in software asset management, procurement, or IT contract management. What You Will Do

• Manage and optimize Engineering Appplications licensing agreements and ensure compliance with licensing terms and conditions.
• Monitor and analyze software usage data to identify cost‑saving opportunities and optimize license utilization.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on Engineering Application licensing matter.
• Review, update, and optimize Engineering Applications‑related data in our SAM tool.

What You Need

• In‑depth knowledge of Engineering Application licensing models, programs, and agreements (floating, concurrent, token‑based licensing models for applications like Vector, Ansys, PTC, Mentor etc.).
• Good experience with licensing servers (FlexLM, DSLM etc.), OpenLM and a SAM tool (preferably Flexera)
• Experience in software asset management, procurement, or IT contract management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.

What is Nice to Have

• Certification in Engineering Applications licensing models and agreements.
• Experience with software asset management tools and systems.
• Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
• Familiarity with the specific requirements in engineering organizations.
