Job summary

Tekskills is seeking an experienced License Management & Compliance specialist to own the desktop software licensing lifecycle across procurement, deployment, renewals, and retirement. You will ensure license agreements, vendor contracts, and audits are met while maintaining license servers and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SAM/ITAM or IT procurement.
• Strong experience in software license management and mapping.
• Knowledge of major licensing models (per-user, per-device, SaaS, concurrent).
• Hands-on experience with SAM/ITAM tools (ServiceNow SAM, Snow).
• Understanding of Windows and macOS desktop environments.
• Experience working with vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, VMware.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of desktop application licenses from procurement to retirement.
• Design, configure, and maintain central license servers for real-time checkouts and monitoring of floating licenses.
• Conduct regular license usage analysis to identify under-utilization or non-compliance.
• Coordinate with application packaging, desktop support, procurement, and vendors for renewals and true-ups.
• Support audits and remediation activities and maintain license terms.

License Management & Compliance

• Manage the complete lifecycle of desktop application licenses, including procurement, deployment, renewal, and retirement.
• SPLIT server, Advantages of SPLIT Server. TRIAD server location, SPLIT server location
• Server details: Server type, Server configurations, HOST Names, ALIAS names, IP Address, MAC Address, Application hosting status on server(P/S/T).
• Ensure compliance with software license agreements, vendor contracts, and audit requirements
• License Server Setup & Maintenance: Design, configure, and manage central license servers to enable real-time license checkouts and monitoring for floating licenses.
• Conduct regular license usage analysis and reconciliation to identify under-utilization or non-compliance
• Support internal and external software audits and remediation activities

Application & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with application packaging and desktop support teams to ensure licensed software is deployed correctly
• Work with vendors and procurement teams on license renewals and true-ups
• Maintain vendor documentation, entitlement records, and license terms

Cost Optimization & Reporting

• Identify opportunities for license optimization, cost reduction, and rationalization
• Prepare regular license usage, compliance, and cost reports for stakeholders
• Provide input into budgeting and forecasting for desktop application licensing

Tools & Systems

• Maintain accurate license data in asset management and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Snow, SCCM, Intune)
• Support integration between license management tools and endpoint management platforms
• Ensure data accuracy and governance across license repositories

Governance & Process

• Define and enforce license management processes, standards, and controls
• Support application onboarding and offboarding from a licensing perspective
• Collaborate with security and risk teams to ensure licensing aligns with compliance and regulatory requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or IT Procurement
• Strong experience in software license management, License file Mapping, Option File Mapping for desktop applications
• Knowledge of major licensing models (per-user, per-device, subscription, concurrent, SaaS)
• Hands-on experience with SAM / ITAM tools (ServiceNow SAM, Snow, etc.)
• Understanding of Windows and macOS desktop environments
• Experience working with vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, Autodesk, VMware, etc.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• ITAM / SAM certifications (IAITAM, ITIL, SAM Practitioner)
• Experience supporting global or large enterprise environments
• Familiarity with audit defense and compliance remediation
